Shawshenk Redemption

This movie surprised me!! There were so many moments when I thought that something was going to happen and it didn't. I couldn't predict anything, and I really liked that.
******************************SPOILERS AHEAD*************************************
The biggest shock was when Andy escaped!!! I didn't see that coming at all, and I love how they never found him. And just the way he went about it was the smartest thing ever.
Once Andy escaped I hoped that Red would too, or get parole at least so he could reunite with his friend. But, I expected it not to happen. So, when he did get out I was happy.
******************************SPOILERS OVER**************************************
I didn't expect this o be a good movie. One, my dad recommended it and some things he recommends are not the greatest. Second, it takes place in a prison in the 40's and up...yeah.
But, I really enjoyed it. And I didn't expect the ending to be happy but it was.
So, don't let the immense amount of F bombs and the fact that it takes place in jail turn you away from this movie. It truly is a story of a real friendship.

The Birds

I don't have much to say about this film. First of all it was so disgusting!! I don't like flocks of birds and the amount of birds in this film made me itch, especially at the end.
Secondly, I didn't understand much of anything. Nothing was explained. We never know why the birds came, how they got there, if anyone was controlling them or not or anything!!
And the end...or lack there of....that bothered me. We never find out if  Melanie, Mitch and them got to a safe place or if the birds ever stopped attacking people.
One good thing was that the sound of the birds was the most creepiest thing ever!!!

Reed - Season Finale

So let me start by saying that I have absolutely no idea why they advertised this as a 3-part finale. When I think of an episode being in multiple parts, they usually all go with each other. All of these episodes could stand alone. Not one issue in each episode was continued in the next.
It would've been great if they took the 1st episode and the whole issue with Carla and her ex and ran with it. They could do so much with it, but I guess they're saving it for next season, which I'll talk about later.
But anyways, all the episodes were pretty good. I liked the one with Alex's parents. I liked how we got to see the family interact and how the 2 older kids accept their step-grandparents.
And the ending to the last episode was so cute; all of them on the couch together being a loving family.
Now on to season two. I really hope it will happen. I think a show like this is really needed and Kellie Griffin (the creator) and her team did a great job. I thank them for doing this because we were way overdue for a family show with basically, an all Black/people of color cast. I really hope that BET brings the show back for another season, if not, I'm gonna be pretty upset.

Well, until next season

Super 8

Over all this film was great.I heard a lot of mixed reviews about this film, there were some lame parts but like i said, over all it was great.
I loved the suspense of this film. I gasped (so I wouldn't scream and disturb my sister) so many times and my heart was beating out of my chest.
I thought the kids were the best part of the entire film. Their acting was great and they were hilarious. My favorites were Riley Griffiths/Charles and Ryan Lee/Cary.
One part I didn't get was the end with the locket. I mean, I guess he had to let go of his mom and the past, but there wasn't anything that implied that he was holding in to his mom too much other than the locket and it's not that strange to carry that around with you. I mean, it's the memory of her. I still don't understand how she died, I'm pretty lost on that whole story.
The other thing I didn't get was why that creature was on Earth in the first place. And why did the Air Force have to capture it and put it in, basically, jail. Not everything is out to destroy the Earth.
So, unlike apparently all my cousins, I liked this film. Go see it for yourself, though.

Bad Teacher

This movie was bad. I'm not so sure it was a complete waste of my time but I will never watch it again.
I don't understand how Cameron Diaz's character could come out on top in the end. This whole movie teaches you that if you lie, steal (FROM CHILDREN!!!), have sex and do drugs, everything will be alright and you'll find you prince or princess charming, "or something like that." I thought this movie was pretty dumb, and pretty ridiculous.
How in the world does this woman have a job. I'm sure that at some point during the year someone had to come in and observe her. Oh and I was just a little offended when they mentioned the under privileged school being called Malcolm X High School...
OH, Oh and in the end she becomes the guidance counselor??!? What the heck is that??The only thing I liked was that she never sugar coated anything and stopped being so shallow in the end.
Oh, and Justin Timberlake was so annoying and why was he a substitute teacher if he is so rich????
I would ONLY  recommend you to watch this if and only if you are depressed or just watched a depressing. Well, maybe not cuz this movie isn't pee your pants funny but there are some funny parts.
I'm never gonna watch this movie again, you can watch it if you dare...

Reed

Episode one: This episode was so cute. I never had a father daughter dance *sad face* but thinking about it I probably would go if I did have one. But anyways, about the episode; we finally get to see the twins dad!!! I thought the whole thing with Kaci's real dad and Alex was so awkward. And why couldn't he tell her about his fiance when he first got there?!?! That was awful; I felt so sad. I could only describe this episode as awkward.
And Keenan's friend Shawn: awkwardly gross!!! It was funny but wow.
The most funniest thing was Alexis tryna lift weights!!!

Episode two: This episode was interesting...
I knew that Gabby and her man were gonna get in a fight or break up or something with the way she was acting. And that whole game night was awkward!!!
One thing that mad me mad: the Jet and Dallas are the sports teams they talk about!!! they surely need some help with that.
And does Carla psychoanalyze everything and everyone?!?! I mean she doesn't have to take her work home with all the time.
One more thing; didn't Kaci's room look like Alexis'??? I did to me.

Well, Tuesday is the season finale. I'm sad to see it go and I hope they leave us with something to come back to.

Reed

Episode one:
I am shocked that the parents let their kids that are 14 years old stay home over night alone!! My parents NEVER did that with me and I probably would've burned if they did, so I'm glad they didn't. LOL
That one girl was such a bad influence on Keenan and Kaci!!! They should not be friends with her. And she too fresh!!
I'm happy that they touch on subjects like this (sex) and they did it in a good way. Too many times do I see on shows parents getting so angry with their kids for this or their kids doing stupid stuff. But, I liked how this show showed that the son stood up for what he thought was right and did succumb to the peer pressure.
I thought it was a little strange that Alexis class went on an overnight trip and her parents were the only chaperones ...
This was a good episode and I love the issues they bring up in this show.

Episode two:
Here we go with another guest star. He actually was a better actor than I thought.
So a 15 year old in college. I'm not mad at him!! I'm happy that he was male too because African Americans need to see other African Americans in college especially males.
I think Alexis is the funniest kid on the show. She is so funny and all her facial expression make me crack up!!!
Oh my gosh!!! I want Marco to come back. He was hilarious!!!! He should be a reoccurring character on the show!!
This episode was rally funny. Can't wait for next week.

Glee

It's time for Sectionals!!!!
Okay, again, Quinn is crazy and she really needs to get some help. I'm happy that she went and talked to Shelby instead of trying to ruin her life. And why in the world does she want Sam, I don't understand that. And does she really wanna go to Yale, I mean really?? Nothing ever gave me the impression that she was that smart, no offense.
Oh my gosh, Mike and Tina!!! She was only trying to help there was no need for him to get all made. I almost cried when his dad came and then they hugged. That was the perfect father son moment!!
Who knew Sam was a stripper and that Blaine is a boxer?!?! Oh and I really don't like the idea of Mercedes being with Sam. They are not a good couple. Nope, not to me.

Lipsyching when talking - i hate

My friend and I knew that if one team lost in Sectionals the other team would join them and that's basically what happened.
What's with the judges at Sectionals??? I mean a clown...I don't get it. And that girl from the Glee Project was back, but we won't see her again. She only got a 2 episode deal.

I seriously wanted the Troubletones to win and I think their performance was better that the New Directions. Their ,ash up was so good and their dancing was amazing. I loved every bit of it. the only part I liked about New Directions performances was that they did MJ songs. And on that note why did they choose to do all these Jackson family songs???
2 things bothered me. The first was I hate it when they lip-synch talking. I don't get the point of it. The other is just how much of a team the New Directions seemed to be. Do they really not have the confidence that they can will without Rachel or Sam?? Yeah, they're good but they're not the team.
This episode really made me wanna go find a show choir to sing in. I loved it. I don't know if anything big will happen next week but then again it is Glee...

For Better or Worse

Now if you don't know, I will try and support all of the shows created, written by, and/or staring African Americans. So, of course, I watched the premiere of this show. I wasn't too impressed with it.
First I have to say that I thought the set for Angela and Marcus's house was awful. The colors didn't go together at all, in my opinion.
Now, on to the show itself, I didn't understand the point of it. How is it that Angela and Keisha are friends?!?! I thought they hated each other. And how can they make up just from one fight?? I didn't like that at all. I don't think people want to see them as friends. We want to see them fighting and being loud and crazy like in the movies.
I also didn't understand why Marcus's friend was being such a jerk. What was the purpose of that??
Honestly, I didn't like the writing or the timing of the show. There were moments when I was thinking "OK, cane we move on from this already?" and "Why is this scene going on for so long?" It was just too much stuff there that didn't have to be.
I'm a fan of Tyler Perry and I really want to see his stuff succeed but this was a flop for me. I was watching it with my family and by the second episode my sister said "I hate this show. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it." My mom said that he gave to much and now we're like what else can he do with the show. That's how I feel.
I most likely won't be watching this show anymore unless I'm really bored and have nothing to do and it's onDemand.

Glee

I have to say that this episode was full of surprises!! First of all, me and my friend predicted that they would try and put the two glee clubs together for sectionals and it was a shock when they didn't.
Second of all, could Puck be anymore obvious about his relationship with Shelby. I fell like everyone knew he was singing to her. And why did he tell Quinn?!? She clearly was upset at the end and in the next episodes she'll probably tell other people, which would be nuts!!! Oh, and let's talk about how messed up Quinn is. She really was trying to have another baby with Puck!!! What is her problem?!?! She really needs to get help and I'm happy that Puck kinda put her in her place.
I felt so bad for Coach Beiste and it's a good thing she faced him about it and told him how she felt. And she's not that bad of a singer.
Sue is a jerk and will always be one and it's a good thing she lost.
Now Rachel, she's an idiot. First of all she made her friend lose the election after she gave up her spot so he can win. Then she stuffs the ballot but is so stupid about it and made it so obvious. Why would you do that?!? You gotta be a little bit smarter if you wanna cheat and get away with it. And now she can't sing in sectionals and I don't know how they will win without her. Who else will do the female leads now that the Troubletones exist???
I guess we'll find this out next week.
