Switched at Birth - Tight Rope Walker

This was one of the best episodes I've ever seen! Let's start with Toby and lead up to the bigger stuff.
I can not believe he went back to that girl (Elisa)! She is bad news! But thanks to John (shocking) for knocking some sense into him. And that led him to Nikki!! I'm so happy the perfect couple is back together. That part made me really happy. Now let's move on to the stuff that left me speechless.
So Daphne has been made the new Juliet in the play because the old on dropped out. This means that she has to KISS Noah because he's Romeo!! That's crazy and I think Bay is going to get a little jealous. Also, the school board is making a decision on whether to let more hearing kids go to Carlton. Everyone is against it, including Melody. So they all go to he meeting to try and persuade them to stop it from happening. This put Daphne in an awful situation. See, Kathryn doesn't understand the problem with more hearing students at the school and the school board meeting was during play rehearsal so she wanted Daphne to stay. But, Melody wanted Daphne to go with the other students. Automatically I feel bad for her. How can they put her in that position of choosing between the Deaf community and her mother?! I didn't like that. So, at first, she decided to stay but then she couldn't and left to go with Melody. She does a pretty good job at the meeting too, and it's nice to see her standing up for her community instead of feeling bad for being deaf. Sadly, their efforts didn't work. But instead of them letting more hearing kids in the schools, they just decided to do away with Carlton all together!! Yep, they're closing the school. That is not okay. I'd rather have them just let in more hearing kids and I'm sure all the Carlton students would rather have that too. I think it would be different than them going to a regular school because it would still be a deaf school, instead of them going to a hearing school. That whole thing just made me really upset.
Now on to Bay and Regina's mess. So Bay decided to be sneaky and try to find out for herself if Regina is drinking again (instead of asking Regina herself). So she invited Zane (didn't know I was spelling it wrong, sorry) over for dinner and grilled him, basically, the entire time. Didn't find out anything but Regina's favorite brand of wine. And like Daphne said, he could have known that from years ago. So Bay decides to go to the club and confront Zane and ask him about Regina drinking. Of course, he says yes and then she goes and tells him that she's an alcoholic! Whoa! Way to overstep! I get what she was trying to do but I think she went about it the wrong way and it made Regina go nuts. Once she found out what Bay did she basically to her to mind her own business and stay out of her life. I guess she just forgot that Bay's her daughter! Luckily she took some time to calm down and apologized. And she said she would go back to her meetings and call her sponsor. She calls her sponsor and leaves a message, but then she deletes it!!! I legit almost cried at this point. Tears were in my eyes and almost fell down my face. I just can't believe that she would do that. And we don't know if she's going to go to any meetings and no one else knows about it but Bay and she swore to secrecy. That just makes me so sad. She really needs help and I don't want anything bad to happen to her. I don't want to cry again so I'm just going to stop talking about.
Overall, this was a great episode. I loved the whole debate and how we heard both sides. And there was a Downton Abbey reference! I seriously can not wait for next week; it's going to be HUGE! And it's going to be all in ASL which is history in the making. This makes me so happy that I watch this show! They are doing something that no one else has never done and I'm so happy about that. We get to see history next week!!

Oscars 2013

The Oscars were last night and boy was it an interesting show! Let me start with the host.
Seth MacFarlane did an okay job. His jokes got better as the night went on but overall, they just weren't that  great, to me. His opening was too long and not that funny. After a while I just wanted them to get on with it and start announcing winners. He should have sung his entire opening because he's not a bad singer and I enjoyed his singing a lot more than his joke telling.
The performances and tributes were great. I'm not much of a Bond fan but I did like the tribute to James Bond movies. My favorite was the tribute to movie musicals. All three performances were great. I mean, they chose musicals that I actually like (Chicago, Dreamgirls, and Les Mis) so, of course, I was happy. Oh, yes, and Adele. Adele is always great so I was not surprised when she gave another amazing performance.
Now on to the winners. Some of them were predictable and some were not. I wasn't shocked when 'Life of Pi' won for it's visual effects, when Les Mis won for sound (duh!), and when Anne Hathaway won for Best Supporting Actress. Those were predictable so let's move on to the shocking stuff. First off, I was very shocked when Jennifer Lawrence won for Best Actress. Don't get me wrong, she totally deserved it; I just didn't see it coming. I was rooting for her so I'm glad she won. Also, 'Argo' won for best picture! I really wasn't expecting that. I didn't know what would win for that but 'Argo' was not my first choice. I was expecting 'Zero Dark Thirty', 'Lincoln', or even 'Amour', but not 'Argo'. Oh, and Django Unchained won for Best Original Screenplay! Didn't expect that, but it was a great movie so they deserved it.
Overall, I didn't really have much of a problem with the Oscars this year. The only thing was that the host could have been better. I think the music really saved the show. They really should consider having more music and less jokes, unless they get a really good host. I can't end without saying that Adele is amazing; she wins Grammy's and Oscars. And, Michelle Obama is the coolest first lady ever. First she was doing the "Evolution of Mom Dancing" on Jimmy Fallon and now she's presenting Oscars and looking flawless while doing it, too. She's great and that was a great way to end a super long show.

Switched at Birth

Well that was an interesting episode. I think it was setting us up for something a lot bigger and a lot more intense. Let's start with Daphne and Travis. First off, how is Daphne going to break up with him. I really can't believe that. And now I feel really bad for Travis. His life is a mess. I just want to give him a hug sometimes. I'm just happy that he did the right thing and ID'd that guy instead of beating him up.
Now Bay and Noah's relationship ... that's a complicated one. He apologized for what he said, and that's good but why was he bringing up all of Bay's past stuff with Emmett? That's not cool. And if he is this amazing actor, why can't he be all artistic with Bay? I just don't get him.
Now let's move on to all of John's drama. I'm pretty sure Toby's a democrat which is kind of funny but that's not that important. What's important is that that Elise girl is probably going ruin John;s campaign. Well, maybe just her mom. Whatever happens Toby should just stay far far away from both of them. Next, I hate Ivan. Ivan knows nothing and needs to go away. This man has gotten on my nerves ever since he came around. I don't know why John needs him around but Thank God he doesn't listen to him. And John is actually doing things to make me like him. Slowly but surely he's coming around.
And now on to the biggest mess of the episode: Regina. Okay, she really needs to leave this Zayn guy alone. I thought that they broke up but I guess I was wrong. I don't like being wrong about this. Her life is going to come crashing down if she keeps seeing him, especially if she keeps going back to that club and drinking! She already lost one job and now she's lying to Daphne. It can only go down from here. And I think Bay definitely knows that she's drinking, and I hope she confronts her on it, and it looks like that's what's going to happen next week.
Overall, like I said earlier, I think this episode was just the set up for something bigger. I have no idea what's going to happen which is a good thing and a bad thing. I like the unpredictable and I don't like the unpredictable. But, I know that what ever happens, it's going to be good so I'm excited! I can't wait for next week! And, I hope you guys are all getting ready for 'beyond the silence', the all ASL episode in 2 weeks!

Glee - I Do

Oh my gosh! This episode was just ... something. Let's just start at the beginning because there really isn't a better place to begin. So the day Will and Emma's wedding (which is on Valentine's Day) is approaching and everyone is coming home for this event. Finn meets with Rachel (the first time in a long time) and spills his guts about kissing Emma. Rachel thinks he did it because he's still so depressed about their break up but he insist that isn't the case. So, if that's not it then what is it because you don't just randomly kiss someone. Well, he goes to see Emma to make things right but then Will comes back; yay! And he asks Finn to sing at his reception instead of giving a toast. SUPER AWKWARD! Finn can't do it so he asks Rachel for help and they plan on doing a duet. Is there not something still between them or what?
Jake is all bent out of shape because he has no idea what to get Marley for VDay. At first he asks Puck and all he told him was to give her a meal which is the most ridiculous thing, so Jake looks to Ryder for advice and, of course he saves the day. I must say that Ryder is THE nicest person and he really needs a girl of his own so he can be super nice to her. And, I feel really bad for him. Jake keeps coming to him asking for advice on Marley like Ryder never said he liked her. First Jake sings "You're All I Need To Get By" to her in the middle of her history class, wearing these awful tux's, then he surprises her with flowers and then he gives her a necklace. All of this was planned (and bought) by Ryder who is starting to get really jealous but is still super nice.
Okay, let's move on to this wedding because this is when all the crazy stuff started happening and there's a lot so bare with me. First off, Klaine has a little make out session before the wedding starts (and I already can't deal). Emma has a serious mental breakdown and realizes that she can't get married. Sue shows up in an exact replica of Emma's dress. I think that's what really put her over the edge. Then they start singing "Getting Married Today" which leads to Emma hopping in a cab and leaving! So Sue comes walking down the aisle, still in the wedding dress, and tells everyone Emma left, but they still have the reception. There, Artie meets Emma's niece (Ali from The Glee Project) and she is so mean to him but they end up dancing together and having a great time. Klaine sings a duet that gets Tina all jealous and she tells yells at Kurt and even tells him about the "vapo-rape." He calls her a hag, which is true, and just makes her more upset. Santana and Quinn stick together since neither of them have dates and I start to get the feeling that Santana is crushing on Quinn. Before Finn and Rachel do their duet Sue decides to toss the bouquet and Rachel catches it. This causes Finn to get all bold and confess his love to Rachel and basically say that it's their destiny to be together. During he does the whole 'she loves me, she loves me not' thing with a flower and is left with one petal (she loves me). He must have convinced Rachel because she goes and plucks it off! Didn't see that coming. During their duet ("We've Got Tonight) various couples go off to hotel rooms. It's Rachel and Finn (so surprise), Klaine, Artie and Emma's niece, Santana and Quinn (they were definitely drunk) and Jake and Marley. All of them, except Jake and Marley, do the deed! Yes, even Santana and Quinn. At this point all I could think was 'this will not end well', and boy was I right.
After the wedding Rachel skips out on Finn and heads back to New York early. She and Brody lie to each other about what they did on VDay and almost do the deed! But thankfully, they didn't.
Back at McKinley, Marley thank Ryder for all he did because she knew Jake wasn't capable of doing it. Then he confesses that it he still likes her and they kiss!! They end with singing "Anything Could Happen" and just when you think no more shocking things could happen we are left with Rachel waiting for the results of ... a pregnancy test!!! And then it ends. Just like that. And Glee shocks the nation!

I must say that I think this was the best episode to date! It was so shocking and so unpredictable And we have to wait 3 WEEKS to find out what happens next!! I'm glad though, because it'll probably take me 3 weeks to process what I just saw. And I just might have to watch this episode again just to make sure someone wasn't dreaming. I hope you don't go crazy over the next few weeks. Til then!

Switched at Birth - Human/Need/Desire

Well, I'm glad that some juicy stuff happened in this episode, so let's get to it.
First off, I'm so happy that Daphne finally told someone about getting attacked. That bruise she got was looking real bad. I don't understand why she would ever try to go back to that place so soon but at least it made her tell someone. I feel bad for Daphne. She's really going through some serious stuff. I mean, it seems like she's really starting to hate being deaf especially now that she's been discriminated against and was targeted. It's tough and I hope she gets through it.
So Bay decides to have this anti-valentine's day party at, of all places, Angelo's apartment. I think she was trying to use it as a way for her to get closer to Noah who was acting really weird. She basically gave him a bunch of opportunities to ask her out but he didn't take them. I'm actually happy about that because Noah turned out to be a real jerk. Angelo should have kicked him out for starting that fight with Travis. Oh, and of course he gets with Bay right after that. The very moment when I don't want them together and they get together. I don't know how everyone will take this after the fight. This will be very interesting to see.
Another shocking thing that happened was when Toby and Nikki broke up!! I was just saying that they were so cute and the perfect couple and then she just break up with him! I mean, Toby a little ashamed of her being a Christian but did she really expect him to change that fast. I feel bad for Toby, too, because he's such a nice person and she goes and break his heart.
And John does something, again, to make me not like him even more. How dare he go and sell Daphne's truck!! That was not cool. I agreed with Kathryn and Regina on that one. But he did do a good thing by getting it back, but that still doesn't make me like him any more then I already do.
Oh and Angelo better think long and hard before he agrees to give up his parental rights. He already skipped out on 1 (or 2) child and I'm sure he doesn't want to do the same thing with another one.
2 more random things: Natalie a lesbian ... didn't see that coming. And Not one mention of Regina and her recent drinking ... very interesting.

Well, they did a good job with this episode and it looks like it only gets better from here. This is why I love this show!

Glee - Diva

It's diva week or should I say gleeva week! Of course this is both taking place in Ohio and in New York. Well, in New York, Rachel is back 'I'm the best' ways and Kurt is not a fan. In order to humble her, he challenges her to a sing off type of thing called midnight madness. It's Kurt vs. Rachel 2.0! (Remember 'Defying Gravity') Well, this time Kurt wins and Rachel is kicked off her high horse! This puts her in a little depression but Kurt's there to knock her out of it. And so all is well in New York, until the end of the show but we'll get to that later.
In Ohio, each student is competing against each in a diva-off. Of course I automatically think of Wade/Unique; she's the biggest diva. And, of course, they sing Beyonce's 'Diva'. It was great! Santana comes back and shoes them what it means to be a diva by singing 'Nutbush City Limits.' I loved it. I mean, you can't go wrong with Tina Turner. Most of the focus of the episode is on Tina who is still crushing over Blaine. Why, I don't know, and it's really weird and the have gross nicknames like 'Tay Tay.' She spends all her time taking care of him because he has a cold and then confesses her love for him!! I seriously can not deal! Did she not get the memo that he's gay!? And then, while he dead asleep, thinks it would be okay to just hop up on top of him and put vapor rub all over his chest. That was super awkward. Tina really starts turning into a diva (a little scary) and does a crazy performance of 'Hung Up' that includes a quick clothes change. This wins her the diva-off! It's nice that she's getting the spotlight.
Back to Santana. She and Sam are fighting over Brittany. But Sam ends up winning once Santana really realized what she wants to do. And this leads her to New York. Now did I call that or what? Oh and I must say SANTANA'S ON FIRE!! LOL. And she basically moved herself in to Kurt and Rachel's apartment. Not exactly sure how they feel about that.
On to probably this biggest shocker of the night. Finn is still super depressed about breaking up with Rachel so he turns to Emma to help. (She helps judge the diva-off) In return, Finn helps her with her wedding plans. Oh and the wedding is in 10 days! That I did not know. So, Emma basically has a mental break down because she wants everything to be so perfect and to help Finn thought it would be a good idea! Bad idea Finn!! You know, for some reason I had this strange feeling that Finn was going to start to like her. I'm mad I  right. I just wonder if she'll tell Will and if there will be a wedding. Let me stop putting those bad vibes out there.
Overall, I enjoyed it. Brittany had some hilarious one liners (as always) and the music was great, again.

Switched at Birth - The Acquired Inability to Escape

I am so disappointed with this episode. I though that this was supposed to be one of the most intense episodes! Whatever happened to that? I mean the most crazy thing that happened was when Daphne got attacked and that wasn't even much of anything. But I do think that Travis was so cute in this episode. I don't know why Daphne was being so weird about their relationship because he is a keeper. He was willing to beat the mess out of those guys and I'm sure he could do it too. Travis won't always be around so Daphne needs to get her a knife or learn some karate or something because she seemed pretty helpless when that guy came after her.
I'm shocked that Natalie is actually being nice, but thank God she got over being a bully because that was getting annoying. I felt really bad for Bay. Kathryn was a little embarrassing and I'm sorry but I don't think she has a life. That may seem a little harsh but after she wrote that book she hasn't had much to do. Maybe she should get a job. She could help Daphne with the food truck, but then again that might not be a good idea. Her and Regina could do something together??
Speaking of Regina ... she is ruining her life. I'm sorry. I was really rooting for her when she dumped Zayn, but then she goes out and gets him back and then she starts drinking again!!! Such a bad move. She needs to get herself together.
I felt so bad for Toby when he went to see his granddad. He is not a nice man. But I feel like John is kind of like his dad. He can be a little controlling at times. And, I feel bad for John now because he had an awful dad, but he need to check himself so he doesn't turn out to be just like him.
Overall, this was an okay episode. Not that much happened which was the complete opposite of what I expected. It looks like some stuff going to happen next week though. I can't wait.

Glee - Naked

Welp, the New Directions are heading to Regionals, thanks to Blaine and Sam or should I say Blam. This is all good but, they have no money for transportation and this is when Tina comes up with the idea to sell a 'Men of McKinley' calendar and this is when the nakedness begins. So all the guys (except Artie) go shirtless for this calendar!! I must say that this is not a bad idea. I mean, who doesn't like seeing shirtless guys?? Sue doesn't seem to agree and wants to stop it from happening, but apparently she has some revealing pictures in some Playboy-like magazine, and we almost get to see them but, thank God, they couldn't find a copy. Oh the image of that ... yikes!! Also, Artie isn't feeling the whole shirtless idea and he has this heart to heart with Finn about how men have body issues too. In non-shirtless news, the SAT scores have come in and Brittany, of all people, got a near perfect score. After hearing her method for answering the questions I'm pretty sure she's smarter then all of us. Instead of studying and stressing out, she just filled in the bubbles and the fact that her score was so high proves that she's a genius. LOL. I know it's ridiculous but that is smart if you think about it. On the other hand, Sam got an extremely low score and lost all hope of going to college. But, Blaine came to his rescue by doing one of the nicest things. He recorded everyone talking about how wonderful Sam is and it led his to shedding some tears. That's what friends are for. There was some major  cuteness between Marley and Jake. And when I say cute I mean gross cute. Like, the cute that makes you want to say eww stop before I vomit on the TV screen. Well, just how I felt. They basically kept professing their love for one another through song and then finally at the end of the episode they actually said it to each other.  Well, Jake wrote it and Marley said it back. Their relationship escalated quickly. And there was also this super awkward moment where Jake was tell all this to Ryder and I'm like wow, he likes her too. That's really got to hurt.
The nakedness didn't just happen in Ohio. It spread to New York. Rachel auditioned to be in a student film and one of the requirements is that she has to be topless!! Of course, she doesn't know what to do and tries to figure it out through singing 'Torn' as a duet with the Old Rachel. That was just a little frightening with the back and forth and the ugly clothes Rachel. But in the end she said yes!! Kurt did not like this at all and tried to talk her out of it but it didn't work. So called Quinn and Santana for help. What a nice surprise. They try to knock some sense into her but it doesn't hit her until she's actually filming the scene. Thank goodness she got some sense but I just wish it came before all the male crew workers took their tops off. It wasn't that nice to look at. While there, Santana says she likes New York enough to live there and I think it just might happen. Which means that we'll be seeing a lot more of her. (YAY) Oh, and the only real naked person in the entire episode was Brody!!
Overall, I got to say the music made the episode. It was ON POINT!! I mean, there was 'Hot in Here' and 'Love Song' to take me down memory lane, 'Torn' was good with the special effects, and then the oh so wonderful cover of 'Let Me Love You'. And the last song wasn't that bad either. It was kind of cheesy but very inspirational. We also got to hear a little bit of Trouty Mouth! Becky was amazing, as always and there was a Twilight dis. That alone made the episode, for me. And let's not forget all the topless-ness. I loved it all.
