Fall TV!!

I've decided to compile a list of all of the fall shows (new and returning) that I will be watching this year. By fall I mean shows premiering in September or October. I'll have a list for the winter shows before they air. The only way I can do this is by day so here's the list.

Monday
The Voice: 8pm on NBC (Mon and Tues). Premiering Sept. 23rd. This is the only singing competition show that I watch. I think it's the best of the bunch. And the original mentors (Cee lo and Christina Aguilera) will be back!
Hostages: 10pm on CBS. Premiering Sept. 23rd. This show actually looks really interesting. From the commercials it's about a woman who is a doctor about to operate on the president. Her family gets taken and she has to make a choice; kill the president or her family gets killed. It looks like it will be one of those intense, edge-of-your-seat dramas.

Tuesday
Agents of SHIELD: 8pm on ABC. Premiering on Sept. 24th. If you're a fan of The Avengers movie then you know what SHIELD is. This is about them recruiting a bunch of other superheroes. I am extremely excited about this and if it is anything short of amazing I will be highly upset.
The Goldbergs: 9pm on ABC. Premiering on Sept. 24th. This is a comedy set in the 80's. It seems interesting so I'm going to check it out.
Real Husbands of Hollywood: 10pm and BET. Premiering on Oct. 15th. Just a really funny show making fun of reality shows. It's pretty hilarious and it's Kevin Hart. You can't go wrong with that. This is going to be it's 2nd season.

Wednesday
Modern Family: 9pm on ABC. Premiering on Sept. 25th. I think this show is so hilarious. I love it.
Law and Order SVU: 9pm on NBC. Premiering on Sept. 25th. I never thought that I would still  be watching this show after Stabler left but I just couldn't resist. The season finale was on of the biggest cliffhangers I've ever seen so I can not wait for this show to come back!
Ironside: 10pm on NBC. Premiering on Oct. 2nd. A police officer in a wheelchair. This will definitely be interesting.

Thursday
Glee: 9pm on FOX. Premiering on Sept 26th. It's no surprise that I love this show. I can't wait to see what it will be like since a bunch of regulars won't be returning.
Scandal: 10pm on ABC. Premiering on Oct. 3rd. The best show on Earth is back. The wait is over. We can all checkout of Scandal Rehab. But seriously, if you don't watch this show you should start. You have a month to catch up and that's more than enough time because once you start you won't want to stop. And if you have Netflix, all the episodes are finally up there. Believe the hype, this show is amazing. Trust me.

Friday
Grimm: 9pm pn NBC. Premiering on Oct. 25th. This show also left us with a bit of a cliffhanger. Can't wait to see what happens next.
Legend of Korra: 7pm on NICK. Premiering on Sept. 13th. Yes, I know this is a cartoon but, trust me, it's a good show. Fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender will understand. That was one of the best cartoons I've ever seen and LOK isn't far behind.

So there you have it. All the shows I'll be watching this fall. As for reviews, all of them (except for The Voice) will be getting an episode 1 and/or 2 review and I review every episode of Glee. I may try to do this same for Scandal but I haven't really decided yet so be on the look out. I will be tweeting during most if not all of these shows so follow me for tweet reactions as I watch @KiaCherise.
Also, the Emmy's are on September 22nd at 8pm on CBS so be sure you tune in and root for your favorite shows and celebrities. Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting.
Have fun watching!

Olympus Has Fallen

Another movie about the White House being attacked; yup.
This was really your typical edge of your seat action movie. There was nothing really special or different about it. Basically the White House is taken over by the biggest terrorist they know, Kang. Kang holds the president, Asher (Aaron Eckhart), and several others that work at the White House hostage in a bunker. The Speaker of the House (Morgan Freeman) became the acting president and started to try and handle situation. Meanwhile the former bodyguard to he president, Banning (Gerard Butler) sees the White House getting attacked and runs to the rescue.
Like I said there was nothing too special about this movie. Everything culminated in the last minutes and everything before that was kind of mediocre. There was a lot of fighting and it was really gory. It was like that one fight scene in the house in Django where there was just blood flying everywhere, but it wasn't just one scene it was the whole movie. People were getting shot left and right and stabbed and everything. It was pretty gross. It was also predictable. I don't like predicting things and I was able to do that with this movie!
I wouldn't say this was a flat out bad movie. If you like action movies I think you'll be satisfied. I just really don't like being able to predict movie so that was a set back for me.

Now to compare it to White House Down; on the surface they were the same. Obviously there were some major differences but when it comes down to it, they were very similar. I think that OHF focused more on the fighting and the action and WHD focused more on the plot line. I really liked the twists in WHD and that just wasn't there in OHF. WHD went a lot deeper into why the people attacked the White House and I like that aspect of it. Lastly, I really liked seeing the president shooting guns and beating people up rather than sitting in a bunker tied up.
So, go see both movies, really. There are both worth seeing. I just think that White House Down was better, but you can decide that for yourselves.

White House Down

This was one crazy movie!!
Okay so here's the breakdown. Basically the White House is attacked and a policeman to the Capitol, Cale (Channing Tatum), take it upon himself to protect the President (Jamie Foxx). The other thing is that his daughter, Emily (Joey King), is being held hostage by the terrorist attacking the White House and he has to try and save her, as well. I don't want to spoil it so I'll just stop there.
So at first I thought this movie was going to be a mix of comedy and action but it was all action! This was your classic action film. I was able to predict some things in the beginning, which I don't like, but after that I wasn't able to predict a thing! There were so many twist and turns I almost wasn't able to keep up! The ending may seem a LITTLE corny to some people but I actually liked it.
A little note on the casting. Even after seeing this movie I will never be able to picture Jamie Foxx as president. But, he didn't do many presidential things in this movie so I guess all that doesn't matter. Everyone did a great job, especially Joey King. Kudos to that girl.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. If you like action and twists and turns, go see this movie. Now I have to go watch Olympus Has Fallen to see which one is better.

Switched at Birth - Departure of Summer

The summer finale is here. There was a lot that happened so let's get to it.
So last week we saw Coto watching the security camera video of Daphne and Nikki in his office. This week he his confronting John about the whole thing. He accused John of being the ring leader of the whole thing. Of course John didn't know anything about it. So Daphne spilled everything to him and he was not happy about any of it. See, Daphne could go to jail because of all of this which is just insane! So Daphne, being Daphne, decided to try and talk Coto out of saying anything. His solution: for John to pay him $50,000! And when her parents found out about this they got even more angry. So Daphne tried to handle the situation again, this time she wrote a blog post on Jace's blog about why she did what she did. Daphne still may go to jail but her parents don't have to pay all that money and Coto's little secrets have come to the light.
Bay and Ty are going through some troubles too (what's new?). Ty is leaving in 3 days and at first things are looking positive because he won't be in danger for his whole tour. He'll be in Germany for most of it. But of course that all changes in two seconds! Everything changed and he's really going into danger; so serious that his army buddy is telling him to get a will! This is when the relationship start to go down the slippery slope. Bay wants to graduate early to go to art school Germany to be closer to Ty, but when she tells him this he's not having it. He wanted to slow things down. When Bay goes to his place for further explanation a random pair of panties is uncovered on Ty's bed. She automatically thinks its that girl he slept with before and he doesn't deny it! I was really confused because his army buddy asked to use his place to "hang out" with his girl. I thought Ty would shoot down Bay's accusation but he didn't. It turns out that it was all a lie and he never told Bay that. Ty really makes me angry. He didn't want to tell Bay the truth and worry her so he lies about cheating! That's not cool. What a jerk move! I want to feel bad for him because he's going back to war but he's making hard to do that.
He leaves and Bay runs to Emmett for some kind of comfort which really confused me. It seems like they can't stay away from each other. I wonder what will happen with them next??
Angelo was having some troubles of his own with his little girl. Regina has moved out and Angelo can't raise Abby alone. He makes the very tough decision to give her back to her adoptive parents but this time they agree on an open adoption. I can't even imagine how hard that must have been to come to that decision. At least he gets to see her throughout her life. I just feel bad that he doesn't get to raise her.
Last but certainly not least is Toby and Nikki's wedding. Most of the episode is their rehearsal dinner and everything seems to be a little out of control. Their parents really didn't want the wedding to happen and they tried to find time to tell them. John couldn't keep his mouth shut and said he would be paying for Toby and Nikki's divorce in a few years! John is back to his regular self and picked the wrong time to do it because Toby was right behind him when he said that. So Toby confronts his mom about the whole thing and he, Nikki, the parents and even Bay and Daphne get into this huge argument and the wedding. It ends with Nikki's mom saying the whole thing is only so they can have sex and no one cares if they do that so they should just go have sex and not get married!! So what do Toby and Nikki do? They go and have sex to see if that's why they're really getting married. The morning of the wedding, Toby texts Kathryn to cancel the whole thing and everyone rejoices. But, they are the fools! Toby and Nikki went to the court house and got married without anyone knowing! This made me laugh so much. I loved that they did that. Everyone's going to be mad but I'm glad they did what they wanted to do.
Overall I was very pleased with this summer finale. We were left with some good cliffhangers. I mean, Daphne might go to jail! Who would've thought that would happen?! And now Toby and Nikki have to come back and tell their parents they really are married. January can't come sooner enough. Until then!

Switched at Birth - The Merrymakers

I'm disappointed because this episode was not as great as I thought it would be. There were some really shocking parts though but kind of random. First off, Toby and Nikki are having their bachelor and bachelorette parties and out of no where Simone calls to say she's got chlamydia! Now this whole storyline was unnecessary. Why would they even bring Simone back up; she is just a recipe for disaster! Toby also had to deal with Emmett and Wilke (who wasn't really there) not supporting the wedding. But, of course, in the end everything was alright and the wedding is still happening.
The next shocking thing was with Daphne. Coto basically threatened her if she told anyone about his affairs. My question is what does he have on her? I mean, it could be that whole thing with Chef Jeff but that really wouldn't hurt her more than it would hurt him. He might just hurt John, but how? Also, Daphne blabbed to Nikki about the whole thing and Nikki left an angry voice mail for Coto. So to make matters worse they sneak into his office and delete it. The only problem is that cameras caught their every move and Coto knows about it! Daphne is just getting deeper and deeper into it and what's done in the dark comes to the light so someone is bound to find out.
So Bay moved back into the Kennish house and tried to get her dad to do something about Ty's deployment. The only problem is that Ty wants to go back! I really wasn't expecting that but I can totally understand why he wants to do it. I mean, the only reason why she wanted him to stay was so that they can spend more time together but that's not a good enough reason. So he's leaving, again. I'm a little sad Bay moved out of Angelo's. I liked it when they were all together but I guess it couldn't last.
Speaking of Angelo, he got his baby girl back! That whole situation escalated too quickly. It seemed like it took 2 seconds for him to get the baby back. So he and Regina took care of her on the first night and then ... they did the deed, but that didn't last long! I'm so mad! I was waiting so long for them to give in and get together and when they do it last about 5 minutes! It's all Regina so maybe she'll change her mind. One can only hope.
The last thing was wedding planning! Nikki's mom and Kathryn got together to plan the wedding and at first it seemed like Nikki's mom was taking advantage of the Kennish wealth. She kept bringing up all these lavish ideas and Kathryn caught on real quick. But then Regina told Kathryn about Nikki's dad and I guess she felt bad for accusing her of taking advantage. John was not too happy about hearing that Nikki's dad sold drugs but that just something he's going to have to deal with. After Kathryn apologized to Nikki's mom, they both admitted that they don't think the wedding is a good idea! Who knows what they're going to do about it but it looks like they won't stand for it much longer.
Overall this episode was okay. There a whole lot of stupidity and kind of shocking stuff that happened. The only really nice thing that happened was Travis and Mary Beth kissing, finally. Other than that it was a hot mess. It looks like everything is going to explode in everyone's faces next week, which is the summer finale. I hope its better than good because these past few episodes haven't been. Until next week!

Switched at Birth - What Goes Up Must Come Down

Bay and Daphne got themselves into some interesting situations in this episode. Let's start with Bay.
Ty thought it would be a great idea for he and Bay to go camping, but he was wrong. He made Bay climb this high ladder thing and the only way to get down was to jump. She did it, but hurt herself on the way down and got super pissed at Ty about it. See, the reason why he did it was because of Emmett and I guess he wanted Bay to prove to him that she trusted him and wanted to be with him and not Emmett. Bay didn't like this and stormed off into the woods going God knows where which freaked Ty out. She ended up hurting her ankle and now she's on crutches. Such a wonderful trip!
Daphne is getting herself into some serious trouble, too. All the things she and Jace did are coming back to haunt her. Coto has definitely caught on to her and it's not looking good. Jace is still bad news! Daphne finally broke up with him but that didn't stop him from continuing to text Coto. My problem with the whole thing is that Daphne is taking all the heat! Jace played a part in this too and I'm starting to think that he was just in it for the political dirt and doesn't care about how it hurts anybody. All I know is that Jace better watch his back. I'm not sure if Daphne will keep taking all the heat for much longer and she's pissed at him so who knows what she'll do to get back at him.
Kathryn was put in a super awkward position in this episode with Coto's wife. I was kind of wishing for her to come clean about what he did to her but that wasn't the place for that. Hopefully all Coto's evilness will come to light this season.
Toby and Nikki, oh Toby and Nikki. Nothing can break these two up! It always seems like they are going to call off the wedding but it never happens. Kathryn definitely thought that Toby was going to call it off and I'm sure we all thought the same thing. I guess it's nice that this is the one relationship that's really going strong. I'm not rooting for them to break up but I'm still unsure if they will go through with the wedding.
So John is still being super nice to Regina and it's still weird. I've come to the conclusion that I will never get used to the nice John. He did do something wrong by telling Regina's boss that she was the one married to Angelo but John didn't do it on purpose so it doesn't really count. Oh and I'm glad that Regina got the job full time! I hope this time she'll stay on the right track for good this time.
That ending with Emmett and his dad was the sweetest thing. Hopefully they'll have a better relationship now.
I'm a little upset about how these episodes are playing out. I keep expecting there to be some really intense and dramatic moments but they haven't been happening. These final episodes better be like that or I'll be mad. It seems like they're building up to some big explosion that will happen in the finale but I want mini explosions in the episodes before then. I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen that way. I am excited about next week because it looks like Regina and Angelo will really get together, but we'll see.
