Rosewood Finale Update

For such a bright show, Rosewood had a heartbreaking finale. Rosie and Villa had a big blow up, Pippy and TMI broke up and Mama Rosie is off visiting her "boyfriend" (who is he really) in jail. I understand why this was done. This is a new show and they really needed to shake things up for the next season. Go big or go home, right? Good thing I'm used to shows ripping out my heart and stomping on it, otherwise I'd be a mess.

This was a solid first season. I can honestly say that this show was the bright spot to my week. I never thought that a crime drama would have me laughing and leave me smiling each week, but this show did. That's the thing that sets this show apart from others in the genre. Somehow it found a way to keep things light but was also able to keep me on the edge of my seat. It brings the intensity but is able to balance it out with humor. This is a unique show and that's one of the reasons why I love it.
This cast works so well together and has such great chemistry. I also love the diversity of the show, not only in front of the camera but behind it as well.

I think this show did a great job in setting up what's to come for next season. So many things are changing in the lives of the characters so they could go in many directions. Hornstock might not be coming back as captain so there's an opportunity to bring in a new character to take his job. Mama Rosie has a secret of her own and I wonder how long she can keep it. I wonder if TMI will have her own separate storyline now that she and Pippy broke up. Pippy quit so she may pursue singing now, and I wonder if Cassie will make a return. Villa doesn't want Rosie in her life but that's not going to happen now that Rosie thinks Villa's husband was murdered. He's a persistent guy and I don't think he will rest until this case is solved. That case will definitely a major part of next season. I just wonder how Villa will eventually come around to helping him. She is a conflict of interest so all of this will have to be a side investigation.
Here's to hoping this show avoids the sophomore slump because it's unique and necessary for TV and I would love for it to be around for many years.

The Flash Finale Update

This finale was nuts! The big reveal of the man in the iron mask happened and it turns out that he is Earth-3 Jay Garrick who is the doppelganger of Earth-1 Henry Allen. Now I wanted it to be Wally's doppelganger, but as time went on and more hints were dropped I figured that it would be Henry's. So, that reveal wasn't too shocking but it was still awesome. John Wesley Shipp was the 90's Flash and now he's playing Earth-3's Flash, so there was some serious Flash-ception going on in this scene. I was in total freak out mode while I was watching it!
Barry was able to use his time remnant to defeat Zoom. I'm still a little confused on that. but every time I think about it I make the face Wally made when they tried to explain it to him, so I stop. There was some crazy awesome CGI work in that whole sequence.
Barry and Iris finally kissed, and just when we thought it would be one that Iris would remember, it wasn't. We have Barry to thank for that. What I don't get is why he had to go all the way back to the night that his mom died. I thought his whole journey in the speed force was for him to find peace from his mother's death. So why didn't he just go back to stop Zoom from killing his father or just not go back at all and try to find peace with the family that he has now?

I absolutely loved this season! I loved the inclusion of Earth-2 and the doppelgangers were amazing to see. Cisco developed more vibe powers and I can't wait until they're all there and he can go full on Vibe. The writers did a great job with the West family storyline, with the rise of Iris and Barry's relationship, and with Zoom. Zoom was the scariest, most disturbing villain I've ever seen. I also have to give it up to all the actors for bringing their A game week after week. They really elevated the material they were given and made this show one of the best acted shows on television today.

Now next season is going to be interesting because there are so many directions it could go in. The entire timeline is messed up because Barry went back in time to save his mother. His life, and the life of everyone else will turn out completely different because of this. Barry won't have a reason to go live with Joe and Iris and we don't know if he'll even work for CCPD. He might not even get his powers!
Will future Barry get stuck in the past like Reverse Flash did? What will happen with Reverse Flash now? And what about Wells, Cicso, Caitlin, Wally, and everyone else?
I do have a theory for next season. For the first part of the season I think that Barry will go back to the present and find out that life isn't all fine and dandy because of what he did. He may be happy because his mother is still alive but everything else in his life could be in a shambles. I think he'll realize that he needs to go back and fix what he's done and that's going to happen around the time of the winter finale. There's supposed to be an epic 4 show crossover with all the CW superhero shows, so I think that'll play into how Barry fixes what he's done. I really don't think they'll spend all of next season in this timeline. But, we shall see. I'll be thinking of theories and researching Flashpoint in the meantime.

Grimm Finale Update

The fight to take down Black Claw was on in this 2 hours finale and I loved every minute of it. So much happened so let's break it down. Adalind turned against everyone and went along with Black Claw's plan to be in a fake family with Renard. During the fight Eve got hurt and when Nick went to use the magic healing stick something interesting happened. It seems like it turned her back to Juliette. Wu was able to use his werewolf powers to help the team out. Monroe and Rosalee are expecting their first child, and this magic healing stick is still a mystery. The fight against Black Claw isn't over, though. Diana finally used her powers for good through Renard but we are unsure where he stands now. Will he get back on Team Grimm or become a new leader of Black Claw?

This was another good season for Grimm. There was a lot of action and mystery. I think they did a nice job with the Black Claw storyline. My favorite part of the season was the mystery behind the keys being discovered. The team was finally able to put together the map and figured out where it was leading them to. I loved the episode when Nick and Monroe went on their adventure and found this stick. I just wished they focused a little bit more time on finding out what the stick is. We know it heals people, but I want to know where it came from and what exactly was written on the cloth that it was covered in. Hopefully that's touched on next season.
I've expressed how I felt about Nick and Adalind's relationship in previous posts. They tried it this season, but now their trust is broken. I can't imagine Nick getting back together with her any time soon, if at all.

I'm excited to see what happens next season. If Juliette really is back, that's going to shake things up. Will she and Nick try to rekindle their relationship? Wu seems to be embracing his werewolf side now that he has control over it. I would love to see the team use him as a secret weapon. They're the only ones that know about his change and I hope they keep it that way. Like I said above, I really want them to dive deeper into the history of this magic stick. Not only that, I want them to get more into the Grimm history. I really love the mystery of that and I want that to be a big part of next season.

Grey's Anatomy Finale Update

I'm so glad that this was a Grey's finale where happy things actually happened. This show is notorious for killing characters off or leaving them in the depths of despair in its finales, but not this year. This year we got Amelia and Owen getting married, Jackson and April have a healthy baby girl, things are going up for Ben and Bailey, and Callie got her happy ending. The only crazy things that happened were Mer and Maggie falling for the same guy and Jo's secret of her being married coming out. But those things were just shocking and didn't really rip my heart out.

This season was typical Grey's. They ripped our hearts out, made us cry, reminded us of characters we lost and then started to put the pieces back together. This show has a formula and it sticks to it. As for this season, I liked the introduction of Riggs, and Maggie is still a favorite. I also loved seeing the "twisted sisters" living together. The fall of Jackson and April was heartbreaking but wasn't too shocking for me. With everything that happened between them, a big blow up was bound to happen at some point. I'm sad that that Callie left, and even though she won't be back next year I hope that the character makes an appearance in later seasons.

I don't know how these writers are able to come up with new stories, but with they way this show gets rid of and adds characters new storylines are bound to happen. I expect Grey's to continue to kick out that same formula that they do each season. Specifically for next season, I feel bad for Maggie because all she wants is love and I really hope she gets it. I just wonder what Mer will do now that she knows Maggie likes Riggs. I also hope that Jo tells Alex the truth about everything. He really wants a future with her which is huge for him considering all he's been through. Hopefully he can help Jo get a divorce so they can get a happy ending. And in all that we might find out her real name! Until next season!

Empire Finale Update

This finale was just as outrageous as the show always is. I was a little confused as to why Lucious had to marry Anika and why that storyline seemed to escalate so quickly. I mean, Lucious was in jail but then he got out. After that feds still came for him and now he's doing everything he can to not go back to jail (?). Either something wasn't clear or I missed something because I'm not understanding why the feds are coming for Lucious again.
Also, now Lucious has a half brother and Anika and/or Rhonda went flying over the balcony. Another crazy cliffhanger that really just left me wondering if anything got resolved.

As for this season, I enjoyed the second half much more that the first. I did think that the music of last season was much better than this one. There were only a few songs that I actually liked.
I'm a little upset that the storylines didn't get any type of resolution. This is turning out to be the type of soapy show that leaves you with more questions than answers. There's only so much of that I can take before I bow out.
I feel like this show has a great opportunity to explore a lot of different topics and there were many times when I wished that they focused on certain things and they just didn't. I wanted them to focus more on Lucious, his mother and the effect of her coming back had on him. They touched on this but I wish they went deeper. We all know that Lucious is a liar and I wished that in this situation we got the truth from him.
Overall, I'm at the point where I may be totally fine if I don't watch this show ever again. I feel like they're not giving me anything to care about to want to tune in again and again. If nothing else better is on at this time then I'll keep watching. If not, this show could have a permanent spot on my DVR.

There are a few things I need to see in season 3 for me to not be totally over this show. I'm really going to need for them to go deeper on certain topics. Like what I stated earlier about Lucious and his mom; also with Andre and his bipolar disorder.
I think we can all agree that this show is outrageous. But, it has reached a level that has gone too far in some situations and I need for that to get toned down. I want to talk specifically about Lucious. He's an awful person, but I want to have the opportunity to like him. Will that ever happen? Will this show ever make us want to like him?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Finale Update

The season finale of S.H.I.E.L.D. was probably the most stressful 2 hours of my life! There were so many too good to be true/fake out moments. And we all knew, through Daisy's vision, that the member of the team that was going to die would be wearing a cross necklace and a S.H.I.E.L.D. jacket. Throughout the episode that jacket and necklace were getting passed around to everyone and each time I freaked out a little bit more. I especially liked the moment when everyone was wearing a S.H.I.E.L.D. jacket. They really made it hard for us to predict who it would be. Of all the possibilities of who it could be, I was most okay with it being Lincoln. No one wants to see a member of the team go, but Lincoln dying made me the least angry.
This show did something very different with its finale in comparison to many shows this year. It killed of not one, but 2 of its white male cast members. Many shows this year let go of their female/POC/WOC leads and/or cast members. This show decided not to go that route and, as sad as it is to say, that is a big deal. All of the POC team members survived and I think that's major! Now I wish others shows would look to this one as an example of what to do.

This show continues to get better and better with each season. I thought that whole Hive/Hydra storyline was very well done. The whole storyline played out well from beginning to end. Making Ward Hive was a great way to keep Brett Dalton around. I think he did an amazing job with this role, especially in the finale. A lot of the new and supporting cast members like Mack, Yo-Yo, Bobbi and Hunter became my favorites. I loved that Mack finally got his shotgun ax! There were some hard deaths this season (ex. Lash, Ros) and those people will be missed. I can't write this without mentioning Fitz and Simmons finally getting together! I was very pleased with how they built up this relationship and I'm glad that they got a happy ending. All in all, I enjoyed this season and I can't wait to see what next season will bring.

So many things happened in the end that set us up for next season. First, I think it's safe to say that Daisy is officially Quake now. Whether she is on the good side or the bad side is still up for debate. But, S.H.I.E.L.D. is on the hunt for her and I can only imagine what will happen if they ever capture her. She is that wayward child that keeps leaving and coming back and I wonder if they'll have her pick a side a really stick with it. Second, Radcliffe is planning something and I don't know what it is. What I do know is that I do not trust him. Third, I wonder if Bobbi and Hunter will ever return. I know there was supposed to be a spin-off series with them involved, but ABC passed on it. I wonder if they will figure out a way for them to continue to be on the show since their spin-off isn't happening. And lastly, it seems that Coulson isn't the director anymore. There was one line in the final minutes of the finale where Coulson said something about what the director wanted. So, is Nick Fury making a comeback? Is it May? It is someone else we haven't seen yet? What are your thoughts?

Jane the Virgin Finale Update

If I can count on one show to have an insane finale with a ridiculous amount of twist and turns, it's this one! Let's just go down the list. Louisa finally came back. I was starting miss her. Jane and Michael actually got married and that was something that I never thought would happen. I mean, I was sitting there thinking "are they really going to have a happily ever after?" Then Michael found out his partner was the mole and she shot him, so he might be dead. There were a lot of people who thought that he was going to die and I didn't think so but yall were right! Xo is pregnant even though she said she didn't want any more kids. Plus that father might be Rogelio's arch nemesis! Petra is in danger and Anezka is playing Rafael. On top of all that we have no clue what Anezka's plan is, and we can't forget that she's working with her mother! Whew! So many things happened. Throughout all this craziness there were still those sweet, awesome, make you want to cry moments that this show always brings. This finale was great.

I loved this season. Like I said before, I really didn't think that Jane and Michael would get married and it has nothing to do with how I feel and Michael and Rafael. I just thought that something would happen that would prevent the wedding. Now as far as Team Rafael v. Team Michael goes, I've always been Team Rafael. As the season went on I just wanted Jane to pick one or neither. The one couple that I really wanted to stay together was Xo and Ro and we all saw how that went. Overall, this was a great season.

I'm really looking forward to Jane writing her novel about her grandparents love story. I wonder what other things she'll discover about them. I don't know if Michael will survive or not. Next season is going to but just as crazy as this one, if not crazier. And it looks like the title will stay the same because it's still true. I can't wait for the ride!

Quantico Finale Update

Quantico ended just like it began; with a bang. I thought the season finale was great. It was very stressful and emotional to watch, which is a good thing. All of the questions I had were answered. I mean, we got to see everything Liam did in order to pull off this plan. That was awesome! That cliffhanger of an ending though. I have an idea on what Alex is going to do but I'll get to that later.

For the season overall, I enjoyed it. I did like the first half more than the second half. It seemed more exciting. There were some great moments in the second half (especially the last few episodes), but there were also moments when I wished the story would hurry up and move along. But, all in all, it was a great first season.

Before the finale I was a little skeptical on how the second season would go because technically they're not in Quantico anymore and Alex isn't in the FBI. I think Alex will accept the CIA job. She will always be in search of the truth and the CIA will help her do that. All that stuff that happened with Caleb's mom in the finale will come into play, too. That is definitely going to be the big case that Alex is working on next season. I do wonder what will happen with Ryan. He'll probably be upset but if he really loves her he'll understand. I hope season two is like the first where it starts off at some event and then we get flashbacks showing how they got there. It would feel weird if this show didn't have flashbacks anymore. But whatever happens, I'm looking forward to it.

Scandal Finale Update

Another season of Scandal has come to an end and that finale was ... a bit lackluster for me. Don't get me wrong, I was entertained and enjoyed it, but the end fell flat. There was this whole build up with Liv and it didn't come to anything but her saying that she was going to get to the White House again. I feel like the finales have become less crazy as the years go by.

I feel the same way about this season as a whole. They did a lot of great things, but there was still something missing. This season was all about boss women, with Mellie, Susan, Abby and everyone else, and I loved that. I also liked how they had this art imitating life/life imitating art situation with the election. I still say that Edison's monologue was one of the best monologues this show has had!
But there was something missing. This show used to be thrilling and I think it's lost that. They have shocking moments, but sometimes it's out of character and confusing. Take Liv telling Abby that she's not a monster and will just end up coming back to work at OPA, for example. That was the moment when I was like "who are you right now?" That didn't seem like Liv at all. And even the moment when she killed Andrew. Sure he was a horrible person that put her in this terrible situation that caused her PTSD, but I don't think Liv would've done that to him. I think she would've messed his life up and left him living to suffer. Even when she told Abby not to cross her, implying that what she did to Andrew she will do to you. No, this isn't just about someone being a douche and screwing with you. This is about the fact that this guy who put you through crap and now you're trying to deal with it. Let's not ignore what the real problem is.
While we're talking about Olivia, she seemed all over the place this season. One minute she wants to be like Rowan, the next she wants to take him down and then she wants to be like him again. The stories that I thought were most interesting were her dealing with her PTSD and trying to have some kind of relationship with Fitz now that he's divorced. But, all that got lost in command and trying to figure out Rowan's next move. That is a plot line that I am completely over. I feel like every time we think we're done with Rowan, he creeps his way back into our lives.

There are a few things that I want to see nest season in order for me to be as hype about this show as I was when I first started watching. First, I need for them to move one from this B613/Rowan thing. Rowan doesn't necessarily have to die, but he's been the big bad for long enough. It's time we get a new villain.
Next, I want to see Liv work through her PTSD and grow. I mean, I don't think she should have one therapy session and be fine. But, because she always has so much going on with her work, she's barely able to deal with her personal stuff. And I know that the line between her personal life and work life are blurred. So maybe she starts to draw clearer lines.
They need to put the final nail in the coffin that is the Fitz/Liv/Jake love triangle. Liv may never fully be over them, but I do think it's possible for her to move on from them both.
Lastly, bring back the thrill and great shock value. Let things be crazy and twisty like it was when the show first started. If all of these things can happen I'll actually anticipate and be excited to watch each episode instead of watching because I don't have anything better to do.

Supergirl Finale Update

The first season of Supergirl has come to an end. I thought that this was a great start to the series, but we'll talk about that a little later. Let's talk about that finale first.
I enjoyed the finale but I did think it was a little anticlimactic. First, it seemed too easy to snap the town out of Myriad's mind control. The idea that the feeling of hope could bring them back was interesting. I guess I just wanted to see that happen in the previous episode so they could focus on destroying Non and Indigo in the finale. I also would've liked to actually see Alex save Kara with the pod then to have just seen Kara wake up at the DEO. But overall, I really liked the episode. They gave us such high stakes with the time limit and the fact that Kara might not survive. Of course I'm super happy about Kara and James finally doing the thing! Hank is back as the head of the DEO and I love that when danger strikes it's Kara and J'onn going into action. Now we have Maxwell Lord and General Lane working together and nothing good can come from that. I haven't forgotten about that mysterious pod. I haven't a clue who or what could be in it. I will be reading more about the mythology of Supergirl so I can come up with some theories during this hiatus. They did a great job setting us up for the next season.

I'm very pleased with the season as a whole. Like I said before it was a great start to the series. You can tell that they went all in and they even got a crossover episode which was one of my favorites. I love how this show is light and fun but still able to bring on the deep emotions. They were able to find a balance between the fun stuff and the dark stuff, and everything came together very nicely.

I am hoping and praying that we get a season 2 and when that happens there ware a few things that I want to see. First I want to see Papa Danvers. The president will be a woman (which is awesome) which leads me to believe that she'll be seen more. So, I want to see her working together with the DEO. Cat has to know that Kara is Supergirl. I think that's why she gave her a promotion but no title or job description. She's giving Kara the freedom to be Supergirl but also giving her the normal life she always wanted. And lastly, but certainly not least, they better show us Superman. I have a feeling that it'll be a running a joke that they'll never show his face, but they're going to have to do it eventually! I would love for him to be Tom Welling who played Superman on Smallville.

How to Get Away with Murder Finale Update

I know the season finale was a while ago but I wasn't expecting it to come so fast. Plus, life stuff happened and I wasn't able to post. But better late than never.

I really enjoyed this season even though I didn't know what was happening half the time. I really need to start watching the episodes more than once to get all the information.
Viola Davis continued to give award winning word this season. I mean, she really brought it this season and she better get nominated and win that Emmy. I was blown away by her performance. There were so many moments that left me speechless or all I could say was "wow." My top 2 moment were the scene in the yard with Cecily Tyson and the scene where she lost her baby.

Since this show started everyone noticed the interesting relationship between Annalise and Wes. So many people wondered if it was sexual tension, a mother/son thing or both. This season we finale explored what her connection was to him. I was so intrigued by this storyline and thought it turned out to be so crazy. All of this makes me wonder if Annalise has a connection to the other students in the Keating 5 like she does with Wes. Maybe that's the reason why she chose them. 

Now on to this finale which was nothing short of crazy. Annalise got what she wanted in her case with Caleb with one shocking twist after the nest. This stuff still blows my mind.
Wes finally found out who his father was and was able to meet him. It's a shame that in that same moment he witnessed his father getting shot and killed. I think that Frank shot him. Mainly because Frank was involved in sabotaging the case that Annalise was working on in the flashbacks. He indirectly had something to do with the car accident that led to Annalise losing her baby. But knowing this show it'll be someone who no one expected like Laurel.

Like I said above, I enjoyed this season. I'm so ready for season 3 and may need to rewatch this season to prepare. One thing I want to know is where Frank went and is he coming back? One hope I have is that we see more backstory on the students and if they have a connection to Annalise like Wes did.

Sleepy Hollow Finale Update

First, I want to make it clear that this post will contain spoilers. So if you haven't watched the episode and don't want to be spoiled stop reading, watch it and come back. If you don't care, keep reading.

I'm going to start with the season as a whole and then move on to the finale. 

This season had it's ups and downs, but for the most part I liked it because it was an improvement from the second season. I was really excited to see the new growth in the Witnesses relationship, the mythology about them was interesting to me, and I was pleased with the new cast additions. Plus, I really loved the villain and thought that I would be a little upset to see her go. I was at a point where I was watching many of the episodes 3 times because I enjoyed them so much, especially after it came back from the mid season break. I honestly thought that the show was finally going in the direction that a mass majority of the fans (including myself) wanted it to go. I was excited about the finale, even though I didn't know how they would fit in all the loose ends they had to tie up. Which brings me to how I felt about that episode. After watching the finale I felt shocked, devastated, angry, betrayed and heart broken. It PAINS me to say these things, but I'm going to try and explain why I feel this way. 

It hurt so much that Abbie was killed off. Articles have come out saying that the actress wanted to leave the show and that is something that I 100% respect and understand. I just felt like the character didn't get the send off she deserved. First, the way they killed her off upset me. It's been Abbie's MO since season 1 to sacrifice herself for everyone else. That isn't a bad character trait. But when it becomes something that is always done and it doesn't seem like a thought in anyone's mind for the other Witness to do the same, it becomes a problem. This was the one thing that no one wanted to see her do again and it hurt to have it be her final act. 

Second, the reason for her death and the purpose of her life was ridiculous. She died because she did all that she could. Her journey was over. And what did they say her journey and purpose in life was; to help Crane move forward in life. That rubbed me the wrong way because it means that everything she went through was for nothing. And it wasn't just her, it was her whole family. Her dad left and her mom was tormented and died because of this supernatural responsibility that was placed on Abbie. She was then separated from her sister for over a decade. And her sister was tormented just like their mother. So, all of this happened to help a man move forward in his life. A life that he wasn't supposed to have because he died over 200 years before Abbie was even born! It doesn't seem worth it! All of this also erases everything that happened from the pilot to this point. It's like all of the work and the hardships were for nothing. 

I have to mention the relationship between the Witnesses. Every season they talk about this deep, unbreakable bond that they have and how whatever happens to one happens to the other. Well, all of that went out the window. And of course I wanted a romance between them. There were so many signs that led me to believe that was coming and we didn't even get a declaration of love from Crane. Sure, other characters said it, but it means something when it comes from the actual person. 

Overall, I'm very upset with how it ended. It was just one big ball of confusion. I feel like what happened in the episode didn't fit with what happened in the season. Characters weren't acting like themselves, it didn't even feel like the mythology fit with what it was. And I can't go into how I think it should've ended because it hurts too much. I want to stress again how much it pains me to be saying this. I really didn't think it would come to this. I've been so ride or die with the show from the moment it aired and to see it turn out this way is heartbreaking. It hurts to see such an amazing and inspirational character go. Abbie Mills was the African American female lead character of a genre genre show, something we don't see often, and we don't have that anymore. 

I've always said that if Abbie is no longer on the show I will no longer watch. So, if this show comes back for another season I will not be watching. I really do wish Nicole Beharie the best in her future, as well as all the other cast members of the show. 

I want to leave you with the memory of the sweetest moment of the episode for me. The part of the porch scene when Abbie holds out her fist for one final fist bump. Instead Crane takes her hand and kisses it. Then she says "be still me beating heart." 

And now my heart can be still.

Fall Finale Update: Supergirl

This is the last review of the new shows that I've watched this year and I'm happy to say that I have no show casualties! It is a great feeling to have when you like all your shows.
Supergirl is great and I'm not surprised that I like it because I did watch Smallville. I'm still a little traumatized from the pilot when her sister, Alex, was in a plane crash. (Grey's fans will understand how not nice that was) Other than that, I think this show is pretty great. I'm all for woman empowerment. And of course I want Jimmy and Kara together. I just know that it'll take forever like it always does with shows like this. People love their slow burns. As for Winn, I'm not that much of a fan of him. This wasn't the case at first. He had his little crush on Kara and that was fine. The moment I started not liking him was when he got all petty around Jimmy. He started jumping to conclusions and getting mad at Kara when he had no right to be. That really upset me and I think he needs to chill. Let Kara live her life. If she never feels the same way about him then he needs to accept that.

Now that season finale was a serious cliff hanger. First I want to say that it's about time Cat found out Kara is Supergirl. It took way too long for her. All I want to know is what will she do with that info.
Second, we are finding out more about Kara's mother and aunt. Astra is like on of those environmental extremist who do the most to protect the world. She said she does what she does because the world (her old one and Earth) is dying. I do find it interesting that her husband seems to be more of the mastermind than her. He did say that if Supergirl dies, Astra dies. I just can't wait to find out more about them. But with the way it ended it looks like he might not survive to explain things. Astra's still being held captive so hopefully she'll spill the beans. We'll see in January.

Fall Finale Update: Grimm

So the last season of Grimm was ...interesting. (I think that's the right word for it.) It ended with Trubel shooting Juliet and we all assumed she was dead. This is season started right were the last left off, but we still didn't know if Juliet was alive or dead. Personally, I thought she was alive, mainly because I didn't want her to be dead.

• Trubel:  When we last saw her she shot Juliette and then they both vanished. Trubel is one of my favorite characters so I was a little upset that she wasn't around anymore. Thankfully, she came back. She's working for this secret HW group that had her all over the world. Hopefully we'll hear more about who they are and why they do what they do when the show returns because I am very intrigued.
• Renard's friend: So his friend is running for mayor and Renard is endorsing him. There has to be more to this story than we know now. They wouldn't be giving it this much attention if there wasn't. Maybe Sean will end up running for mayor? Or there's more to his friend then we know. Maybe he's involved in this wessen uprising somehow?
• Wessen uprising: So all throughout the season there have been a string of crimes happening and the perpetrator keeps leaving these claw marks on the walls. We know now that it's wessen. And, it's not wessen versus humans, it's wessen versus wessen. So my question is why are they fighting their own kind and what happened to start all this? 

The fall finale ended with a pretty big cliffhanger. It threw me because I wasn't expecting it and I didn't even realize that the episode was over! So I though there was going to be more and there wasn't. I was that person yelling 'NO' at the TV screen. Two huge things happened that I want to talk about.

• Trubel shooting Juliette: Trubel admitted that she was sent back to Nick's house to shoot Juliette. It was assumed that when she went back she only shot Juliette because she was hurting Nick. Now I want to know if the plan was to kill Juliet or just harm her so the HW group could take her captive.
• Juliette's alive: I was right this whole time! I'm so happy that she's not dead. Plus, it looks like she's working on Nick's side, in a way, which is good. I just have so many questions, like what's up with the new hair?

I went in this season a little shaky, but I'm liking it so far. I just hope that all my questions get answered. We'll find out in January.

Fall Finale Update: Jane the Virgin

This show is still it's wonderful self, making my cry and laugh all within minutes of each other. It also still has those crazy storylines. My favorite episode so far was Chapter Twenty-Eight. Let's get into some specifics.

• Michael or Rafael: Jane is still conflicted over who to choose and I don't blame her. Both have done some pretty shady stuff this season. I do tend to lean toward Rafael because he's Mateo's father but they both have a lot of work to do if they want a chance.
• Luisa: She is still the same hot mess she was last season! And she's still caught up with Sin Rostro which really doesn't surprise me considering who Luisa is. I don't think she will ever be over Sin Rostro.  
• Mudder: There is a new mystery person in town. Mudder kidnapped Luisa and is a foe of Sin Rostro. The only thing is that we don't know who she really is. Michael and his new partner think it might be Luisa's mom who was supposedly dead. I'm here for this theory. Plus, I really want to know who Luisa's mom is since she isn't dead. 
• Xo and Rogelio: As we know, these two got drunk and got married. They've actually decided to stay married and I think it's working out for them. 
• Petra: This girl went ahead and used the rest of Rafael's sperm and now she's pregnant with twins! I really don't know what he was thinking when she did this. I guess she wasn't really thinking at all. 
• Jane in grad school: I really love that Jane is taking her writing to the next level. I also really love her counselor, Jonathan. he really seems to know what to do to bring out the best in Jane.

Now I want to talk about that fall finale, which was insane!

• Petra's mother: This woman is THEE WORST! She hasn't done anything to prove that she is a good person. I really don't know why they let her out of jail in the first place. I can't believe that she blamed Ivan's murder on Petra. I mean was she even thinking about the fact that she's pregnant!? No. All she cares about is herself. The only way I see this being a positive thing is if this is some plan and they're totally playing us.
• Petra spilled the beans: Rafael is the only person that knows the truth about Petra's mother. But doesn't that make him an accessory now that he knows? I've watch a lot of crime dramas to know that the more you know about a crime, the worse off you'll be. I hope this isn't the case because he doesn't need anymore trouble coming his way.
• Jane's "night in silky armor": When they revealed that it was Michael I just rolled my eyes. I think I'm over this whole love triangle. I just want her to pick one or find someone new. 

I can't wait to find out what happens next with this show. I'm glad we don't have to wait too long for new episodes. See you in January.

Fall Finale Update: Quantico

This is my favorite new show this fall! There are so many wonderful things about this show. First off, if you ware a fan of How to get Away with Murder than I think you will like this show. They're similar because the both start off with a main event that we don't know much about and then we see flashbacks all the way up to the main event. I do think that this show is a little easier to follow. There are many characters that they introduce, but it doesn't happen all at once. Characters on this show come and go, so when they introduce a new one another character may be leaving. Whether it's permanent or temporary, my lips are sealed.
This is the type of show where you can't trust anyone. You may start out an episode thinking that someone is fine and end the episode thinking they are the shadiest character. You just can't trust anyone on this show.
Another thing I really love about this show is it's diversity. The lead of this show is an Indian woman, the director is the FBI is a Black woman and the rest of the NAT's (agents in training) are a pretty diverse group. It just makes me so happy to see a cast that is so diverse. I will always praise a show for mirroring what society looks like.

Now on to this finale. Was it Caleb this entire time? Who was in the control center? Who's alive and who's dead? I have so many questions and I have to wait until March to get them. I'm not excited about the long wait, but it does give those who haven't watched time to catch up. So, if you haven't watched I suggest you do. It's a great show.

Fall Finale Update: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

What a journey it has been for me with this show. The first season wasn't the best but it did get better each year, and this year is insane!

• ATCU and S.H.I.E.L.D.: S.H.I.E.L.D.  started working with the ATCU this year in order to mend their relationship with the government. It was going okay until we found out that they were creating an inhuman army! And then we found out the man in charge of that was Hydra! Complete craziness.
• Coulson and Ros: The leaders of these organizations hooked up! Finally Coulson got some good love, but they had to kill her. WHY?! Why would they do that to him!? 
• FitzSimmons: This was my favorite storyline so far this season! Jemma got sucked into that rock last season and we started this season with Fitz doing everything and anything to find a way to get her back. I loved that we got an entire episode dedicated to her on that planet. Then we finally got a kiss! There were so many moments between these 2 this season that brought tears to my eyes. 
• Lash/Andrew: Lash was the craziest reveal! I had no idea it was Andrew until the agents figured it out. Of course the one person that was supposed to help all the inhumans adapt to their new powers was the one that killed them. 
• Ward: Ward is that villain that you just hate. I can compare him to Amanda from Nikita. There was nothing about him that I liked. He was just pure evil and I wanted him gone every time I saw his face. .

Now let's talk about that finale. We almost had a happy ending; ALMOST. I knew it was too good to be true I just didn't want it to be. First, I want to say that Ward is dead. What we saw in that last shot of the finale was not Ward. That was the 'It" monster from the planet using Ward's body as his own. Ward is no more. I just want to make that clear. I just want to know how he managed to make it through the portal without Mack knowing and without the bombs destroying it. All I know is that when the season comes back we have to deal with Lash being on the loose again and the 'It' monster/Hydra. It is going to be one wild ride!

Fall Finale Update: Empire

Empire has proven itself to be one of the most outrageous shows on television and this season was nothing different. There were somethings that I like and some that I didn't, so let's get into it.

• Lyon Dynasty: Cookie and Hakeen are finally working together and creating a label all their own. I love this. It's nice that Hakeem finally came around and can have a better relationship with his mother. We are done with the broomstick beatings! (I hope)
• Jamal and Cookie: I was upset that these two were at odds in the beginning of the season. I'm just glad they cleared the air and were able to work together again. Their scenes are gold.
• Lucious: I've never been a fan of Lucious and that didn't really change this season. What I did like was that we got flashbacks to his childhood with his mother. We were able to understand why he does some things and I really appreciate them doing that. Hopefully we'll see more when the season comes back. Also, I want Lucious to actually talk about his childhood. Seeing the flashbacks and then seeing him react to a situation is one thing. Having him talk about what he went through and maybe explain that this is why he's doing whatever it is he's doing can help his family understand him more. 
• The music: I have to admit that I liked the music of season one more than this season. There were just a few select songs that I liked this season but I liked all the music last year.

Now let's talk about that shocking fall finale.

• Camilla is back: This was the most shocking moment of the finale. They teased her coming back but we didn't know why, but the reason why was crazy. I really liked how they revealed her as Mimi's wife first instead of having her go to Hakeem first. I'm just really surprised that she would go through all this for Hakeen. Marrying this woman just so she could take over the Empire. I mean that it a lot. 
• Hakeem's betrayal: I wasn't at all shocked that he did this. I did think that he would stick with the Empire because of what Cookie said but when you take into consideration all the things that Lucious did for him, it's no surprised he voted him out. Lucious basically switched Hakeem out for Freda Gatz. In the end, Hakeem is only really going to look out for himself and by doing this he has more power in Empire. 
• Boo Boo Kitty is crazy: I was really wondering what they would do with her storyline since she really doesn't have ties to Empire anymore. It's interesting that they made her pregnant and insanely jealous. Why didn't they show her get a job like the one she had at Empire at a competing label? I would've really like to see her and Cookie squash their beef and work together at Lyon Dynasty. It would've really pissed Lucious off, but more importantly it would have been awesome to see Lyon Dynasty be woman led. Oh well. Also, I have no doubt in my mind that she is the one that pushed Rhonda.
• Love for Cookie: I really want Cookie to have better love interests. I liked her with Laz, but he had to be problematic. Of course Lucious is going to be jealous of anyone she's with. I just wish the only reason for him to hate the guy is because the guy is with Cookie and nothing else. #UnproblematicLoveInterestForCookie2k16. 

When the show comes back hopefully we'll learn of Rhonda's fate. I haven't a clue what it might be. There's really nothing given from the promo except Andre crying in the nursery, but that could mean anything. I just wonder if Lucious will ask to work at Lyon Dynasty now that he's out of the Empire. We'll see in March, which is too far away and too long of a wait!

Fall Finale Update: The Flash

I was very excited about this season. Mainly because of all the Comic Con panels and interviews that talked about the Iris/West family storylines. I'm a big fan of the West family so hearing that they would get more screen time made me very happy. I was also really anxious to see what happened after that insane cliffhanger of a finale. So let's get into it.

• Zoom: This is the new villain and he is terrifying! I hate villains that have a lack of facial features and Zoom has no mouth and that makes me very uncomfortable! Also, have you checked out his nails?! So creepy! Since Zoom is from Earth 2 (E2) there has been this ongoing debate on who he is. Some people think he's E2 Barry but I'm not too sure about that. It seems too easy. I read a theory that it might be E2 Henry and I think that would be so interesting. I have no solid guesses, but wouldn't it be interesting it he was actually E2 Iris? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we found out why he has Jessie. Did they ever tell us?
•  Barry's search for happiness: So in the season finale, Earth 1 Wells told Barry that he would never be happy so this season he's been trying to not prove him right, and I'm not sure he did a very good job of it. He seemed a little depressed and lost some of his confidence. I think he finally got it back by the fall finale. 
• Mama West: I was beyond excited when I heard the news that we would finally meet Mama West. I ended up not liking what they did with her storyline. I feel like every time an MIA parent comes back they either want money or they're dying and she fit right in with that trope. Why did she have to be dying? I really wanted to see her and Iris's relationship evolve and I don't think that we're going to get that. I mean, there is still time but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
• Iris West: I thought that would we see more of Iris being a reporter this year. The most we saw was her getting saved by Barry from that shoot out and her being all buddy buddy with Linda (I love that friendship by the way). I really want to see her doing press conferences, interviews and more investigative work. Like when she found out about Wally, for example. We never saw her looking that information up and discovering it, we only saw the after effect. The fall finale was her best episode this season.
• Honorable Mentions: Jay and Cailtin... we all saw that coming. Patty, oh Patty. I wish you were more than just a love interest. 

Now on to that amazing fall finale, which was so emotional!

This finale was all about the West family and I think this is just the beginning. Iris finally told Barry and Joe about Wally. I really have to give it up to Candice Patton and Jessie L. Martin for acting their butts off in this episode. I mean, when you give them screen time they put in work and I love it! I'm not trying to take away from the other actors, but we see those in STAR Labs quite often in comparison to the Wests.

I want to talk about Joe's gift to Barry. I was a little shocked that he decided to give his watch to Barry. I'm guessing the symbolism behind that was that Joe was trying to show that he still considers Barry his son even though Barry's not his biological son and even though he has a biological son.  

Wally West has arrived! This was the moment that we were all waiting for. I just knew that it would come in the last minutes of the episode. I am so anxious to see how this shakes things up. 

Lastly I have to talk about E2 Wells and Zoom. Wells is now working to steal Barry's speed mostly likely to give it to Zoom so he can get even faster. Again we have a Wells using Barry for his speed. (SN: What if he actually steals some of his speed but Wally takes it and that's how he becomes Kid Flash?)

My only question is why didn't E2 Wells tell anyone about this?! I'm pretty sure they would try to figure out a way to help him. 

Well, I can't wait to see the second half of this season. Hopefully we'll see Cisco get a better love interest that has the same amount of conditioner game as he does. See you all in January.

Fall Finale Update: Rosewood

This was another show that started off slow but got better with each episode. I have to say that I thought this show was a little corny, but I'm happy to say that it got better. Once we got some character development and the storylines started to unfold, the show really came into it's own. It proved itself to be a different type of crime drama. A detective and a pathologist team up to fight crime. It kind of reminds me of Mulder and Scully in the sense that you have the detective side and the medical side.
Another thing that changed for me was the relationship between Rosewood and Villa. I didn't immediately want them together romantically, but now I do. I have to blame the show for this because they just keep throwing tropes at us. Plus, these two don't have bad chemistry, so why not.
I'm also really glad that they started their over arching storyline with the fall finale. I've said many times before, just having just a case of the week will get boring over time. It's nice that they've started a storyline that will bleed into multiple episodes.
I want to take a moment to talk about the casting of this show. I love seeing a Latina and a Black man as the leads of a TV show. I love that from the regulars, to the supporting cast, to the cast member that are only on for 1 episode, there's diversity. It just makes me so happy to finally see a show that reflects the society we live in.

I can't wait to see what happens when the season picks back up again. This killer that they're looking for is no joke and it's not going to be easy for them to find him. It looks like things are going to get complicated between Villa and Rosewood because it looked like something was about to happen between them in the finale. I won't be surprised if they share a kiss before the season finale.
If you haven't watched this show, I recommend you do. You've got enough time to catch up because the season doesn't resume until March. Hopefully I'll see you then.
