Veronica Mars (2014)

Synopsis
This movie is the long awaited continuation of the amazing television series of the same name. If you haven't seen the TV show here is a brief synopsis. Veronica Mars is a junior in high school living in Neptune, California. Her best friend was recently murdered and the only way she can cope with it is by figuring out who the killer is. Also, her father has just lost his job as sheriff but he still does PI work. The series is mainly about Veronica solving huge mysteries from murder to finding lost dogs.
The film picks up with Veronica as a law school grad looking for her first big time job. She's living in New York with her boyfriend Piz and everything seems to be great until she gets a call from Logan. She rushed back to Neptune to help him out and it just so happens that her old high school is having a ten year reunion.

My Verdict
I loved it! I watched this show when it was on TV and rewatched it to prepare for this movie and it was everything I ever wanted it to be. I mean, it was like I was watching a season of the show in one sitting. It was great. Here were some of the things I loved about it. Everyone came back. Wallace, Mac, Piz (of course), even Dick, Gia, and Weevil, who had a wife and kid by the way! We got the great Veronica Mars narration throughout the movie and they even found a way to include the theme song in the film. And there was a synopsis of the series in the beginning for those that haven't seen the show. I really felt like I was one of the students returning for the reunion, seeing old friends, and finding out what they're all up to.
One PSA-type theme they had throughout was police brutality and dirty cops that will do whatever they can to put someone in jail even if the person didn't commit a crime. The show always had an incompetent sheriff and officers but they took it to another level in the film with this. They had cops doing stop and frisks and framing people. I think we get the message here.
Two people that we're in the film that I would have loved to see were Duncan and Jackie. It would've been nice to see how Duncan and his daughter were doing. If they were still in another country or if they found him and him and Veronica seeing each other after all those years. If you don't remember Jackie, she was Wallace's girlfriend in S2. The one that came to live with her dad, lied about her life and ended up going back to New York to live with her mother. I wonder what happened to her?

Well, I'm giving this movie a 9/10. It did everything a movie based on a TV show should do; give closure. We got to see what almost everyone was up to, Veronica stick with the job she truly wanted and what guy she ended up with. (Not telling if you haven't seen it) If you are a fan of the show you need to see this and if not, watch the show then watch the movie. Now I cry, because it really is over.
