Fall Finale Update: The Waling Dead

This midseason finale was just what I expected it to be. Things that needed to happened, happened. The group needed to find their way back to each other and we got that in the end. I was neither shocked nor upset at who died because I saw it coming (Olivia) and wanted it to happen (Spencer). Now, I'm really excited about what's to come.

As for the season so far, I'm not too upset by it. I know some people thought it was slow and boring. Well, yes it moved slowly and there wasn't a lot of action, but that premiere was brutal and emotionally exhausting. I am grateful that they took their time to get back to the high intense action. It gave me a chance to recover. Plus, I think the job of the first half was to build a foundation for what's coming next. They needed to do some worldbuilding, and I'd rather them take their time introducing each new community than rushing it and having us wonder who in the world these people are. I really think there is a reason they're doing all of this and I think we'll all understand it in the end.

I still stand by my theory that it's going to take a mass mutiny to take down Negan. The first half showed the group that they can't do it alone as individuals or as an individual group. Now it's time to plot and plan.
I don't think that Negan will be dead by the end of the season. That is going to take awhile. Here's how I think it will go down. Maggie will be instrumental in convincing The Hilltop to fight with the group. Somehow they will learn about King Ezekiel and the Kingdom; whether they just come across their members or Morgan finds them. Either way Morgan will convince them that the group can be trusted. I think the community Tara found will come back into play as well. Once they get the numbers I think they will/should start turning Negan's people against him which won't be hard. We've seen the harsh conditions they live in and people already don't like it (especially his wives). Even Dwight seems to be over Negan. Once they do that they'll be able to take him down from the inside and the outside.
As for the guy in the strange boots, I'm hoping he's an ally. Maybe it's Heath because we have no confirmation that he's actually dead and how awesome would that be?!

Fall Finale Update: This is Us, Insecure, Pitch

I never intended to watch this show, but I heard so much about the pilot that I just had to. That episode hit me in the feels and I haven't been able to stop watching. I love that we get flashbacks, and I think that writers are doing an amazing job. My favorite scene so far was the one when Randall and his dad went to the karate class. It really brought on the tears! I'm a little upset the finale ended the way it did. Why is it that when everything is going great, something tragic has to happen? I thought "nothing bad happens on Christmas eve." The only good thing is that we don't have to wait until next fall to find out what happens next.

Insecure was everything that I expected it to be. I'm a huge fan of Issa Rae and her work so I new it wouldn't disappoint. I've longed for a show about Black woman sisterhood and this show gives that to me. Plus it's real, it's raw, it's honest and I am grateful for that. The only thing that shocked me was Lawrence doing what he did in the end. I don't blame him for leaving her but did he have to hit the first girl that was thirsty for him?! What do y'all think about that?

Who would've thought that I would like a show about baseball? Surely not me, but I love this show and I'll be really upset if it doesn't get renewed. Let me tell you all the wonderful things about this show. One, the female lead, and really all the women on this show not being stereotypes and being well rounded characters. Two, the fact that Ginny's teammates aren't pigs but big brothers who are super supportive of her. Three, Ginny and Blip's relationship, Ginny and Evelyn's relationship, and Blip and Evelyn's relationship. Four, the fact that they showed Ginny struggling with her anxiety, realizing she has a problem and having her get the help she needs. How often do we see that with a Black woman on TV? And last but not least, Ginny and Mike. I tried so hard not to let my shipper flag fly with these two but by the fourth episode I wanted them to get together! Those last 2 episode were so rude to us!
The only thing I didn't like was how predictable the finale was. Of course Mike's ex, Rachel, breaks up with her fiance right after Mike finds out Ginny's got a new beau. And of course Mike and Rachel sleep together because stuff like that always happens. Other than that I loved it and will be highly upset if it doesn't get renewed.

Fall Finale Update: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Every year this show gets better and better, and this year was no different. This season we got Ghost Rider and they did a great job with that. Between the backstory and the CGI, everything was amazing. We also had to deal with the new director and the fact that he's inhuman! He hasn't fully grown on me yet. I don't completely trust him and he has the potential to go either way. We shall see with him. We also got Aida, Radcliffe's extra human-like robot he made to be a literal shield for the agents. I knew it was only a matter of time before she turned on him, which brings me to the finale.

First, I'll start off by saying it was a great episode. The focus was all on Ghost Rider and his uncle and that creepy book. But that ending! Seems like Aida is trying to make herself a human. Plus, she's done some to May and it seems like there's a fake May running around talking about sharing a drink with Phil! (Only the real May can do that!) All I know is, Aida messed with the wrong one and when all is said and done, I'm going to need to see May break that robot in half. Then the show can leave May alone for a few years. Between Andrew becoming Lash, her seeing ghosts, literally dying, and now this; she's going to need a break from the traumatic events. She may need a trip to the real Tahiti (with Phil, because I kinda ship it now) after this is over. That's really all I want for the second half. I would say I want to see more Yoyo but they're giving us a whole digital series about her, which is available to watch now. That will be the thing that gets me through this hiatus.

Fall finale Update: The Flash

This season of The Flash has been such a joy to watch, even though we had flashpoint. So far we got Jessie Quick and Kid Flash, Caitlin got her powers, Barry and Iris are finally in a relationship, and we even got Jay helping out here and there. Cisco also got a great storyline and was fleshed out more. I know a lot of people didn't like seeing sad Cisco who blamed Barry for everything, but he's grieving and has every right to feel that way. Not everyone can be happy-go-lucky all the time. By showing this side of Cisco, they are really making him a fully rounded character.
I also liked the crossover a lot! Usually I only watch The Flash part, but this year I wanted to watch the others. It was great and I hope the musical crossover is just as good as this one.
I really feel like this season is spoiling us, but I don't care!

The fall finale was a typical Flash Christmas episode. Even though they were dealing with the big bad they were still able to come together for a Christmas party at the West's house. The only real tragedy we saw was the glimpse of the future where Savitar kills Iris. But, like Jay said, that was only one possibility in an infinite number of possibilities of how the future could go. So you never know what could happen.
Barry got him and Iris an apartment for Christmas! I mean, we all saw it coming but that whole scene was just perfection.
We also got some backstory on Savitar, Dr. Alchemy and the Philosopher's Stone. That only made we want to know more about Savitar. Like, who exactly is this guy and how did he figure out how to use the stone to become a speedster? Hopefully we'll learn more as the season moves on.

I'm predicting that the second half will be all about Barry trying to protect Iris from the future he saw, and I have a feeling it's going to be great. I just wonder how long it'll be before Barry tells everyone what he saw. I also can't help but wonder if they can fully trust Julian now. I think they should keep him at a distance. I just can't wait for the day when Barry, Wally, and Jessie are all fighting together. It's going to be awesome!

Fall Finale Update: Rosewood

This finale was a happy one. It centered around Gerald's case which was one of the overarching cases of the season. Rosie finally came around to believing that Gerald was innocent and they were able to find the real killer and have Gerald released. He also got to reunite with his daughter. That was pretty much all of what this finale was; them solving this case. Everyone's personal lives were put on the back burner. The only thing we got to see was Villa, maybe, get closer to the coroner  and, maybe, agree to go on a date with him. But, she has so many layers it's hard to tell what happened. There wasn't really a cliffhanger, but the episode did keep me on the edge of my seat. Juju returned and the plot kept thickening, and I kept yelling "plot twist!" It was fun, as it's always fun watching this show.

I've enjoyed the season thus far. It didn't take long for Rosilla to get back to their non-awkward selves after last season. Slade took some getting use to but he's grown on me and I'm liking this new friendship between him and Hornstock. It's clear that it will take some time before Pippy and TMI find their way back to each other, if they ever do.
There were 2 overarching cases in this half of the season; Eddie's case and Gerald's. I'm shocked that they closed both cases by the halfway point of the season. It's kind of like we are getting a fresh start for the second half. The only unfinished storylines we have are with the personal lives of our characters.
For the second half, I'm predicting some friction between Rosie and Villa because they're both occupied with their own love interests. Who know how long that'll last? TMI and Pippy have had their space so maybe they will find their way back to each other. I still haven't seen much of TMI's life separate from Magic City so more of that please. And lastly, Donna. I think she has feelings for Gerald and it'll be interesting to see if they take their relationship to the next level.

Fall Finale Update: Queen Sugar

This is one of the best new shows of the year and one of the best shows on TV right now. From the acting to the directing, the lighting, editing and music; everything was on point every episode. It was especially nice to see such great complex characters on screen. Not a single person was just good or just bad. There were moments when I was side eyeing each character and there were other moments when I was saying "you betta go!" (Well, everyone except Davis. Davis sucks!)

The season finale was just as great as every episode. It really was a season finale done right. So often I see finales that use shock factor as a cliffhanger. And that's can be okay, but not when characters are being killed off or put in danger and we don't know if they'll survive or not. This finale was able to give a great cliffhanger without doing that. Charley was able to her deal despite everything that she had to do to get it (which was questionable), and now they own a mill. But the kicker is that their dad wrote a new will, leaving RA the farm instead of all three siblings. Now we have this possible shift in power. Charley took control of the farm, but now it's RA's and he has ideas that we've seen Charley shut down time and time again. So, will we finally see RA put his foot down? I know that Charley isn't going to give up the power that easily. She'll probably throw in their faces that she basically paid for all of it, but there's a will which is legally binding.
I'm also interested in seeing how Nova reacts to it all. Her relationship with Charley has grown so much and she's shown her so much more love, support and respect. I just wonder if she'll treat RA the same. We all know the two of them have a bit of a rocky relationship because she wasn't there for him when he was in jail like she was with Too Sweet. but now that RA has control of the farm, will she treat him the same way she treated Charley? It'll be interesting and I can't wait.

I do recommend that if you haven't watched this you should start. It's one of those rare shows when everything comes together so well and creates something amazing  If you have watched, what did you think of this season?

Fall Finale Update: Jane the *not* Virgin

[I have no idea what to call this show anymore and I'm so happy I get to say that!]

That finale was so suspenseful! Everyone is doing crazy things. Xo is with her ex who cheated on her and she knew about it! I think I'm going to be like Jane in this situation. I really don't know how to feel. Like, I don't know if I can trust him or not. I just don't want to see her get her heart broken. I am happy that she's living her dream by opening a dance studio.
Rogelio decided that he's going to have a baby with his matchmaker which is insane, but the Rogelio thing to do. I wonder if he'll actually go through with it.
Michael isn't allowed to go back to work yet. It's not like he hasn't stopped working though. All that proves that he'll be miserable until he can be out in the field doing real detective work. I sense a mid-life crisis coming soon.
Rafael is NOT a Solano! That was the big shocker and the end of the episode. But, we can't forget that he's also going to tell the cops about all those stolen paintings his dad has, which could land him in jail! I just want to know of he's a citizen and if he'll get deported or not. I really don't want to wait until January to find out. I mean, this is Mateo's dad! I don't think Jane or Rafael will be able to deal with Mateo's father being out of the country.
I do not trust that Catalina. I never did. It just seemed too good to be true. She showed up too quick and is staying too long to be a habitual traveler. I have theories about her that we'll get into later.

This season is going great so far. So much happened it feels like the season is ending instead of it being half over. I'm glad that Petra is back, but I wasn't expecting her to go back to season one Petra. I wanted Petra who was best friends with Jane to come back. But of course, this show wasn't going to have us wanted Petra back without making her evil when she came back.
I'm glad that Jane is finding out about her family, but I'm a little scared about this whole Catalina situation. Also, Jane is not a virgin anymore!! I love what they're doing with the title cards.
My only wish is that there was more Luisa. She always comes and then leaves for a long time. I just wish that she'd stay around a little longer in the second half.

So, for the second half I have theories. Catalina is definitely playing Rafael and it has something to do with the paintings he has in that storage. I don't think Catalina is Jane's real cousin. I think she's playing her to get to Raf. She probably catfished Jane's real cousin. I wouldn't be surprised if Jane's real cousin showed up and shocked everyone. If Catalina is Jane's cousin, that would be the worst. I don't want Jane to get burned by her own family.
The only other theory that I have is if Rogelio does go through with having a kid, Xo might get jealous. They've teased us with these two all season (maybe all series) long!

Fall Finale Update: Supergirl

I have to be totally and completely honest. That fall finale was pretty meh. In fact, it didn't feel like a finale at all. I think it was because they promised an epic 4 night crossover and the last 30 seconds was the only crossover bit we got. (And they didn't really need to show that because they re-showed it on The Flash.) Also, the only bit of suspense they gave us was that bit with Mon-El at the end, and I don't really care about that. Mon-El has always seemed a little sketchy to me and this gives me even more of a reason not to trust him. I was expecting more of a cliffhanger so I could have a reason to come back. Right now the only thing keeping me is the promise of this Flash musical crossover. If that wasn't coming I would have no problem DVRing this show.

Now on to this half of the season. The only storyline that kept me watching was Alex's; everything else upset me. First, why did they make M'gann a white martian!? I was so excited about Miss Martian, and J'onn having someone to connect him back to his planet and maybe her joining the team, but no. They had to make her his worse enemy, and then they had her infect J'onn and turn him into a white martian. But that didn't last long at all, so it all just seemed like on big waste. Like, what was the point of doing all that if he was just going to get cured in 30 seconds?!
Second, why can't they let James be great? He falls in love with Kara and they get together only for that to be taken away in the premiere. Then he becomes the head of CatCo but he can't even lead his first meeting and when he finally takes control, we don't get to see him in that roll. Then they make him The Guardian but not without Winn telling him multiple times that he can't be a hero because he doesn't have powers. Even when he becomes The Guardian Winn can't stop telling him about how he can't do it. And we barely saw him as The Guardian. I mean they immediately framed him as a killer so he had to get over that before he could do anything more. And if he did do more we didn't see it. Like, why couldn't he come to LCorp and help in the finale? It definitely feels like he's getting sidelined this year. I doesn't feel like he's on team Supergirl right now and that needs to change.
Then we have Mon-El who I don't completely trust. It seems like they brought him in as a love interest for Kara, even though she said she needed time to figure out life as Kara. Was all that a lie so they could break her up with Jimmy or what? I guess we don't really know yet because it seems like Kara doesn't like Mon-El like that. But they left it so vague that it could go either way.

All I know is, the second half needs to pick up if they want to keep me tuning in each week. They haven't done enough to keep my attention yet. I really want to have a reason to watch this show each week but it's not looking good. I need the second half to have more James. I need more of a story with Papa Danvers and I need to know if he's okay or not. I need Cadmus to be a bigger big bad, especially now that Hank is Cyborg Superman and sporting the same face as J'onn. Also, will Superman come back when he finds out there's a cyborg version of himself out there? Lastly, get James back on team Supergirl. Let him tell everyone that he's The Guardian so he can help out more.

Fall Finale Update: How to Get Away with Murder

The entire first half of the season we've been trying to figure out who was under that sheet and now we know. Wes is dead. And who killed him a mysery for the second half. I was more shocked then anything when I found this out. I really didn't think it was him. Like, he was crossed off my list long before the episode aired. This was mainly because they showed him at the police station and I thought that meant he was fine. I thought that it was Frank from the beginning. And after seeing how things were playing out, I though Frank would go through with killing himself and that they would decide to burn the house down instead of moving his body. (And there were so many awful things that happened in that house they were better off just burning the whole thing to the ground.) Now, obviously, there's a lot more that went on that we haven't seen yet. Plus, the big twist at the end was that Wes was dead before the fire. I have predicitions that I'll get to later.
The episode was a shocker and it answered one question while leaving us with many more, in true HTGAWM fashion. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and there were a lot of WHAT's and OMG's said throughout.

Now I didn't have much of a problem with the first half of the season. I know a lot of people didn't like the Laurel/Wes and Asher/Michaela relationships, but (for some reason) I did. I also liked the growing relationship between Annalie and president Hargrove. The one person I didn't like was the ADA. I feel like her whole investigation is fueled by her jealousy towards Annalise. Like, she can't be her or beat her, no matter how hard she tries, so she's going to try to ruin her life. That really irked me.

Now for my predictions for the second half. I think it's very possible that the person who killed Wes and the person responsible for blowing up Annalise's house are two different people. I think Frank is definitely involved in all of it, though. He could have been so pissed at Annalise for the way she treated him that he killed the one person who she fought so hard to keep safe and then left him in that house like a gift for Annalise to find. And maybe he chickened out and blew up the house so she would never know. Or maybe he just knew that all the Keating 5 would be at the house, and since they hate him so much, he blew it up to kill all of them. Or maybe the guy Wes framed for killing his father killed Wes and left him at the house like "I know it was you who was behind this so this is what you get."

Fall Finale Update: Grey's Anatomy

I will start off by saying that I thought the fall finale was a good episode. Everything that happened was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The storyline with the apartment building manager was interesting, and so was everything that was going on with Alex, and Jo (finally) telling him the truth. It was so frustrating watching Alex decide to give up and take the plea deal, but I knew that they would end it right before he made his final decision. I do wish they showed us what he did because I just want to know. This has been going on for too long and it's time for them to go forward with a trial or not.

Now on to the first half of the season. I'm a little upset by it. I'm upset because they said they were focusing on the originals but everything that happened has been bad. Now we have Webber basically being demoted and Alex on the verge of losing his job forever. I wish there was some good thrown in there with the bad to balance it out.
Also, I don't think they spent enough time on everyone else. They spent a lot of time on everything surrounding Alex's trial, and Amelia and Owen's situation. And their situation was just a reincarnation of what happened with Owen and Cristina. (And why are they recycling that storyline?) I want to know what's happening with Jackson and April. Did she move out yet? Is she still dating? Is he dating? And what about the whole Mer, Maggie and Riggs situation? Is that over with or what? Plus, they let Leah come back, touched on it for an episode and then we barely saw her. I guess my hope is that they spend more time on the rest of the Grey Sloane crew when they come back.

I want that, and I also want to know more about Jo's past. Like, will her husband come back? And can she finally get a divorce? I also want this trial with Alex to be over. I don't want him to go to jail. My hope, and this will probably never happen but, I want Deluca to drop the charges. We all know that Alex did what he did because he was trying to protect Jo. He didn't know what was actually happening and they didn't know what he thought was happening. I know it sucks and Deluca could've lost his ability to be a doctor, but is he willing to take that away from someone else? I'm also interested to see what will come of this Webber situation. Bailey definitely didn't want to do it, but Catherine pushed her to. I can't wait to see how the rest of the board reacts. From Jackson's reaction, it looks like they have no clue what's really going on and I don't think they'll like Catherine and Bailey deciding to do this without talking with them first. And will Webber find out that Catherine is the one behind it all? How will he react to that? Well, we shall see January 19th.
